I did a little research since our last chat and indeed there were those that agreed with the theory that a future event or that a "doorway from/to the future' could be/has been created by the LHC. They claimed it was very probable... I find it interesting that the Mayan called the upcoming time... as the time of no time" very interesting indeed.

Greetings Timewalker,

I just arrived back and have had 'no time' to converse, but will shortly!

I have some questions that I am hoping someone can hypothesize on. If they succeed in recreating a mini version of the big bang? Then since no one really knows anything about the big bang and since the last science that discussed the big bang said it started out very tiny, about the size of an atom the expanded.. then is it theoretically possible to create a new universe? If so what happens to ours? Do we co exist? Do we just become a part of the new one? There are 2 things that I am most concerned about regarding CERN/LHC.. One is what I have just questioned and the other is opening a doorway into the future or displacing/altering the time flow. I researched this all that I could and all that I found was people talking wormholes that ate the earth which is not my concern. My concern is the human ..oppps factor that humans always historically have done and continue to do. An ooppps with this has the potential to do huge harm especially since there are so many unknowns. I am aware that where ever there is the potential for harm we also have the potential for good works but humanity is not known for using our advances in technology for only good works. The splitting of the atom brought us many good things but it also brought us Nuclear weapons. Last but not least there is the fact that anytime in the past that a bunch of scientists got together and said something was a fact while others dissented because of opposing theories it has usually been the ones that had the opposing theories,Galileo,Newton, Einstein,Tesla, come to mind, that were right. There are some scientists who have stated LHC is not a cool thing to be doing. Russian scientist are citing possibilities of darkmatter creation, time anomalies and particle creations in another dimension.

geez lets not bring up the Myans. I am sure had the Myans not been slaughtered by the Spanish, they would have simply made another calendar.

That is exactly what is regarding the Mayans... to much hype regarding 2012 and calender and the Mayan Elders are annoyed with the current mess.it is not a time of ending but a time of transforming. A new beginning of another Calender. To read Mayan Elders viewpoint on the matter go here and here
however this time is called the time of no time and I always found that strange and have pondered the many possible meanings thereof.. Including CERN.

Scientists Complete First Steps To Bringing LHC Back Online

Just to build the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has taken Herculean efforts, and now to get it going again, then in keeping it going into 2010 (and through 2012)!?!?

I will be very surprised if they can keep it going through 2012. A note on the 2012 thing ..It is not like that day and hr.come then poof! instant transformation or Whoops there it is or anything like that. The Time of no time is now as well as then.Native people view the world a little different than some sometimes. Often meanings are methaphors for something non literal.Time of no time could refer to that point where the calender starts over or it could refer to the fact that we have different time zones,or any number of other things.I do not wish to make this a discussion from my part on this but since lately a lot of whats on TV is Earth in ruins and 2012.. I just thought I would mention it and give a perspective from the Mayans themselves regarding 2012. Hopefully that info will cool alot of the fear mess out there regarding that date and time.In relation to CERN I just found it one of the many possibilities of interperting the time of no time just in case that bouncin of particles creates a time door to the future like many of the Physicts claim that it can. Thanx much Fifth Knight for the info.

CERN LHC Starts Smashing Protons Once Again

Timewalker,

The road to 2012 must be starting here, because the Large Hadron Collider will be increasing to higher energy levels through 2010, and continue onward with many different types of experiments, that have been scheduled (even with delays) into 2012.

(* Note: This post title should read "Together For First Time", and I am unable to correct).

CERN LHC has begun smashing protons at lower energy levels, than the LHC is actually capable of producing.

CERN LHC Update

The Large Hadron Collider continues to move forward, but has had 2 power outage set-backs.

The latest experiments are being governed by safety checks and newly installed early warning mechanisms.

The most interesting and dangerous experiments are yet to come!

. . . And then they would have probably constructed their own Hadron Collider and destroyed the world back then. . . I suppose!?

CERN LHC Update:

The Large Hadron Collider set a world record on November 30, 2009 with particle collisions at 2.36 trillion electron volts (TeV).

CERN is slowly graduating the LHC toward (most probably 2011) full powered beams at a combined energy of 7 TeV.

After so many large and small mishaps with the LHC, there is no rational cause to hurry these questionable experiments.

Remember, the entire LHC design is to test the human understanding of the theoretical 'Standard Model', and that's the most dangerous part of this experimental equation!

Questionable experiments? No rational cause? Most dangerous part? You're in more danger from your car than the LHC.

I completely agree, unless of course CERN actually keeps the LHC running consistently, and eventually even manages to produce full-powered collisions, then it becomes a different matter entirely!

United States Cannot Control LHC Operations

There is no coordinated U.S. chain of command to impose jurisdictional control over the Large Hadron Collider's operations.

The only way the U.S. Government could stop an experiment, would be to engage a full military air-strike on their coordinates, or insert a moderate ground invasion upon Geneva Switzerland soil!

And why, pray tell, should the USA have any jurisdiction over the LHC and/or the experiments run within?

There is a partical accelerator in New York, and the Tevatron in Illinois. When these went into operation they had the same goal as the LHC and no one was trying to shut them down, let alone the US Government.
