We made it to Spring and the Hadron news alerts are starting to fill my inbox once again.

Well it must be getting time for a new youtube LHC rap-o-rama!

I sure hope that 'safety' is still their number one priority, because there has been more and more evidence suggesting the possible outcomes are truly 'unknown'!!!

The LHC is built upon an unproven 'Standard Model' and in essence has been created to resolve those inconsistencies within that model!

Any thoughts?

Outcomes that are truly unknown? If they were known, there would be no need for the experiments.

More and bigger relief valves, eh? I would hope. A pressure surge like the one last fall must be planned for so as to minimize damages. Sure like to see the pictures of the destroyed components and sheared bolts of the anchor mounts. Of course, they would be less than confidence inspiring. I wonder how many bar they are set for and how many cfm at such and such temperature they are rated for.

I wish safety was ever their number one priority. The fact is they are in an extreme rush for their Nobel Prizes and that is their number one priority. That is a very bad basis to rush into anything let alone something as potentially dangerous as this experiment. For all their soothing words about safety, (backed up by a series of assumptions) their real focus has been shown time and time again that they are very much focused on self interested advancement.

I find even just the psychology of their behavior disturbing and that's before we even get to the incomplete physics they are basing their assumptions on. They are determined to rush into this experiment.

Their myopic thinking is very evident. Scientists cannot and must not behave the way they are behaving and that is before we even consider the seriousness of the experiment they are carrying out. We are all literally betting the planet on this experiment being 100% safe. That makes their behavior all the more shocking.

Yes I'm being harsh in my words. Its time to say it like it is, because no attempt at reason is getting though to them so far. I'm tired of calling it simply just burning curiosity. Their narrow minded, biased, distracted focus on their real goals of world glory at having a big prize in science isn't reason enough to rush into this experiment as some of them have very much shown they wish to do. They must build up very slowly and carefully over the next few years to keep testing the safety of this system and constantly reviewing their physics as they go. But that's not what they are going to do. They won't wait years, as they fear someone else may get there first and so they will loose out on their Nobel Prizes.

CERN LHC Proving Ground for New Emerging Theory

May 18th 2009

Is Everything Made of Mini Black Holes?

A new emerging theory is coming to light in regard to gravity, time and space.

The CERN Large Hadron Collider may become the new proving grounds for this very attractive concept; however, much caution has been placed upon moving forward carefully!

Admit it, we have all suspected at one time or another, that we are actually made up of mini black holes (MBH), now haven't we???

Come on --- Yeah, I thought so!

Is Everything Made of Mini Black Holes?

LHC: Hunting Hidden Dimensions

The Large Hadron Collider has 'not' been completely counted-out as yet!

Although Fermilab has taken a lead in the feverish activity department, and perhaps may beat LHC to the final punch ----

But it's not over yet!!!

The future scientific trends are being sifted through even as I write this, and the new 'perception of physics' is evolving in tandem.

An important philosophical question for us all...

"Although Fermilab has taken a lead in the feverish activity department, and perhaps may beat LHC to the final punch"

I find it very disturbing that personal gain is such a very evidently strong driving force behind their behavior.

Trial and error is an unavoidable part of science. No matter how much we think we know, we have to do experiments with unknowns to push forward into the unknown. So the philosophical question becomes, are there any experiments that are or will be too dangerous for us as a civilization to try to do? ... Or will the desire for personal gain overrule all caution, with people using uncertainty as a continual excuse to always proceed. Curiosity surely has its limits?. At what point will we say, no we have to wait and progress carefully. Yet how can we wait when so many scientists are driven ultimately by so much fear of others getting to prizes of discoveries first. This single minded pursuit of goals must have its limit?. So at what point do we all stand back and progress carefully?.

The problem is trial and error learning has worked ok for us as a civilization this far into human history. That is because even if an experiment goes completely wrong, the worst that can usually happen is we end up with a few scientists killed from their own experiments and so then all other scientists world wide will then proceed with far more caution when they do similar experiments. Their deaths are ultimately as much of a trial and error learning experience as are the goals of their experiments. However that principle of trial and error learning starts to fail as the scope of the experiments grows to affect ever more lives. When the potential cost in lives of catastrophic failure grows to risk millions and even billions of people, we cannot afford such a cavalier approach to such big experiments. Such behavior would be frankly showing such single minded arrogance that it would be labeled as a personality disorder, due to the considerable lack of empathy towards others (and risk of harm towards others). The excuse of learning isn't enough to justify such a risk and such a potential cost in lives of others.

So then, how do we recognize when we are approaching such a dangerous experiment?

The problem we are all up against is in some ways very similar to the mentality some people have about the environment. They cannot believe human actions can result in global environmental damage. Its just too big for them to imagine possible. They assume the environment is too big and too resilient to be badly effected yet we know damage can be done.

So as a philosophical question, as science projects get ever bigger and ever more powerful, at what point will caution overrule personal gain?

"Flashforward" - LHC Stars in T.V. Series

A new T.V. series called "Flashforward" has just begun, and it capitalizes on the possiblity for an accidental high-energy planetary mishap at CERN.

In the book, the ALICE Experiment is the setting for the physics paradox, which creates a conundrum of universal future visions experienced by citizens everywhere on Earth.

In my opinion, this is a very well made production, and has well developed story-lines, excellent characterization, and a solid plot!

Abomination

The latest assumption is that the Higgs particle is an abomination in nature and sends ripples back in time to prevent its creation suggests two things:-

One that it is an expensive waste of time looking for it.

Two that it really is an abomination is tied to a single experiment event preventing only those experiments not destined to unleash it.

In the case of the second point there still needs to be a point in the future where the abomination is created. From that point onward all future generations are stuck with an abomination of nature and all of its repercussions.

To this point no human being has traveled more than a seconds communication from the earth's surface (by conventional means). There is no fall back option, no place of safety. Does this mean that if the scientists responsible do not get their Nobel Prizes then they sure as hell don't intend anyone else to get one either?

A funny way to describe retroactively the psychological perception entitled Murphy's Law. If something can go wrong, it will go wrong is the manifestation of your described properties of the Higgs. Is so then there is a well established means to test for it. Namely, get the damn bugs out.

Get over it guys. Have you forgotten what Beta testing means? The ridiculous speculation of time ripples preventing the operation of the LHC can be said of any new device being put into operation. Are you going to say that time ripples burnt up the astronauts Grissom, Chafee, and White because time ripples wouldn't allow a lunar landing abomination? Ridiculous.

3 (Known) Levels of Time Anomaly at CERN

*Note: This post is dedicated to Faith A., a friend who asked me to explain this to her, and gave rise for something we can all read together tonight. **Not A Bedtime Story -- To Be Sure!!!

There are three different levels of time anomaly involved at CERN:

#1. Particle beam "time dilation", which involves the two beams having their position in space/time recalibrated, due to the acceleration of particles near the speed of light.

Time slows down with all types of acceleration, and at CERN they must be extremely careful to use 'time dilation calibration equations' or else the impact-point (impact coordinates) of these millions per second collisions would completely miss their target.

Timing of the beams is critical!!!

#2. The collisions can produce micro black holes (mbh), which can distort the regional space/time fabric.

This can lead to macrocosmic time-shifts at all levels.

#3. New mathematical studies even suggest that within quantum physics, there are time traveling muons and other subatomic particles, which actually travel forward in time making prearrangements in time/space.

This concept technically creates reality before and as it happens --- like a sewing machine function --- think about it --- past/present/future being seamed together --- moment by moment right before your eyes --- becoming the fabric of time/space.

This has led some physicists to speculate, that if the CERN experiments were to create a major catastrophe in the future, then the links to those outcomes would become pre-severed and cut ---

Therefore, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) would either not function properly, or even create a backward surge from the future, which could cause a devastating overload in current-time experiments ---

This would be perceived in current-time as an explosion!
