I don't know what the climate is like where your from, but it seems like pure stupidity that our government isn't putting more effort into solar power.

I'd imagine the animals who call it home wouldn't call it useless. I agree with you that private solar panels are a great solution, but a Nuke plant can supply an entire city while taking up comparitively little space, and high rises simply don't have enough roof area, nor do all countries have huge spans of sunshine, to make solar powering of large population centers as feasible as Nuclear energy.
