Some people are for it, some against, liberal and conservative alike. I think it all comes down to if you're a startrek fan or not. And I, for one, would love to go to space! |

![]() Homo sapiens Posts: 1,980 | How many people a day do you think that we will need to send into space to relieve the stresses of over-population on earth? As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;... --From Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli passed unanimously by the Senate 1797 |

For example, they train underwater for those missions. So, in the process of getting to Mars, underwater habitats might become viable places to live. Once you can live deep underwater, extreme temperature environments can be done also. Once you can live in any earth environment, we can build up the whole planet like Corsucant. I'd like to thank Charlie Hodge, bringing me scarves and water. |

Granted there is no WW III, I believe by 2050 that tune will be very different. If a colony on Mars by 2025, then by 2050, who knows what is possible. I think American should start making this a priority! |

Maybe some alien life will visit us before then and take us away before we die here. Doubt it though. I mean I wouldn't want us on our planet either. |

| Igneous Magma Location: Southwest desert - Valley of the Sun Posts: 566 | I don't think we will ever be able to relieve the pressure of over-population by sending the overflow into the solar system (let alone to the stars) - going to Mars & elsewhere and establishing bases or even colonies.. that is more about discovery & learning new science. As for the teeming multitudes on earth.. that is easily within our control to stabilize. But, that is a hornets nest of controversy.. mainly due to ignorance & religion. Too bad. Life is about quality.. not quantity.
