What is Energy?

How about a simple answer?...

By far, Einstein's best-known equation is "E=mc2 - energy equals mass times the velocity of light squared." According to this equation, any given amount of mass is equivalent to a certain amount of energy, and vice versa.

It takes matter to create energy. Certain unstable elements of matter(mass) can be manipulated to produce vast amounts of energy(fissionable materials in the A-Bomb) To find the amount of energy, you multiply the mass by the square of the speed of light, this number being 300,000,000 meters per second (a very large number): Thus there is usually lots of energy for a small amount(mass) A hydrogen bomb is basically composed of a single proton of hydrogen....

I don't know how mass there is in ones brain but it does have much potential? If we could just figure out to release all that mental energy we would all be in the genius category?

Watching processes in the universe, we can see a continuous chaos. Does it have a direction? Perhaps, but only locally and temporarily. Everything is flux and it does not make sense or god designed purpose. Humans on their Earth are less then a dust particle. All kind of metaphisicists speak about mind energy, mind over matter, etc. This is outside any scietific reasoning.

A nuclear reaction is also stopped when the process runs out of fuel ... for example, when a star runs out of hydrogen, the nuclear reactions in it stop. Likewise, when we detonate an atomic device, the process continues until the core material has been used up in the explosion process ... it's really not much different than any other process of combustion ....

Run out of wood in your fireplace, the fire goes out.

I like the definition of Energy as being mass as expressed in terms of Einsteins equation.

If you believe God created the initial mass and/or energy that led to the evolution of the universe, fine ... but there is no evidence that God's hand is involved in energy or radioactive decay as observable today.

What?? ... Of course there is mind over matter .... we can connect electrodes to the brain and send impulses with no physical interaction that can be interpreted and used by technology. We can certainly affect matter with our mental energy ... that proves that our bodies create energy that can be measured (and harnesses). There was even a recent experiment on a chimpanzee that triggered a reward mechanism by thought alone (through electrodes).

There are also observable changes to the body's natural electrical field when subjected to alternative treatments like accupunture.

Damn it! I was all for you when someone FINALLY said something about the fuel running out. But mind over matter in the traditonal sense isn't like this. Unless the energy your talking about is going over wires to the matter. Even then it's all electronic.

What about the "God Helmet"? Granted thats an awesome name for it, but what about that?

Also, is plasma still the forth? Theres gas, liquid, solid then plasma. But since plasma is the direct release and/or transfer OF energy it makes it confusing.
