And people complained about Microsoft and their monopoly, Apple just screwed over thousands of people who paid for the phone who decided they wanted a "choice" in their providers. I would be asking for my dam money back if it was me..... but since it is me, I was smart enough not to buy into the hype of the phone.... as I figured from day one of the announcement of the IPhone there were gonna be issues.

By hacking the iPhone, any service contracts and warranties on the product become void. So if Apple wants to create an update that disables the device if it was hacked, that's their choice. Personally, I say good for Apple. IT'S A BOY!! |

We can potentially learn future lessons from this. If the consumer sucks it up, and continues to support this type of behavior, they can get even more where that came from. Like a secure investment in their future. |

Apple didn't screw over anyone. They sold a phone with the understanding that it was only to be used on the AT&T network in the United States. Customers who willfully and intentionally broke that term of the contract are having trouble with their phones. Apple is being nice - they could have simply done like the cable companies used to do - sent a "bullet" to any phones that weren't using AT&T and killed them all. Quote:

I don't understand the hype anyway - the iPhone doesn't do anything more than a decent PDA has been able to do for years. AT&T was the only US provider willing to give Apple a piece of every activation. Don't forget... Lawyers were writing the Constitution while doctors were still bleeding people with leeches...

It really wasn't as expensive as I was planning it to be, I bought it the day after they lowered the price to $400. It's a great phone, don't listen to all the anti-iPhone hype you hear, it's definitely the most useful phone I've ever had. |
