| Molten Ash Posts: 53 | medicine isnt necessarily all good, as automatically assuming that with its use we will become artificially immune and therefore "lazy". Medicine is not a perfect tool. This is why there will always be ways to improve on it. Later generations will be a product of us, and if there were any reversal to a more "primitive" way of life only those that are capable of surviving will survive. In a way it does create a very dependant situation. The elderly, the handicapped, and the obese would have a hard time surviving without this life support system. In this way it does slow its progression down in, what I believe, a weird conflicting kind of way. |

| STFU NOOB Posts: 57 | Thing about evolution is having a large gene pool, so if an epidemic breaks out and nearly everyone dies, out of the 6 billion people on earth, at least a few million would survive due to genetic diversity. So while medicine will encourage weaklings to procreate, there will be more than enough people with good genes. Plus having weaklings increase the chances of people with unique abilities being born, who could do good for society. I shall put out the fires of hatred with my own stream of yellow justice. | Igneous Magma Posts: 354 | I dont believe medicine makes us weak, we dont take it daily unless we're old or have something that would've killed us along time ago, All those colorox comercials and kill all the germs is making us weak. medicine only cures us after we're already sick and probably been fighting it for several days |

| STFU NOOB Posts: 57 | I mean weak by not being able to resist disease. Humans are constantly evolving to beat germs, we win some and we lose some. Weak isn't defined by physical strength, but by the strength of your immunities. I shall put out the fires of hatred with my own stream of yellow justice. The chief export of Chuck Norris is PAIN. |
