Anyone have a Hanns G monitor?

I purchased a new flat screen monitor November of last year, and it is already starting to die.(or so it seems)

Up until yesterday, it only had one problem, which was "one" dead pixel, a problem I could easily look past.

Today, I wake up and turn on the machine, coffee in hand, ready to debate, and I find my monitor isn't working on the right 3/4 inch of the screen, from top to bottom.

I have tried changing frequencies, resolution, adjusting the view range, everything I can think of..... but still a 3/4 inch strip down the right side of the screen is dead.

Any ideas as to what would cause this OTHER than monitor malfunction or failure?

P.S.
My monitor is a Hanns G: HC174A, 17" monitor.

Osborn, give JScreenFix a try. LCDs: Fix your LCD's stuck pixels - Lifehacker
Go to the main website and run the app in your browser. You'll probably need to run it full screen. It fixed a dead pixel on my LCD, maybe it'll work for your screen.

Thanks for the tip and the link Ish.

I am messing with it, checking on my warranty and pulling all my tricks out of the book (not many) but I will let you know when I make some progress, or try that.

Hey Ish,

I just shut my machine down completely, (power-strip, back of machine removed powercord), double checked all of my connections (none were loose, but I gave each screw a little more turn into place on the plug heads) and after powering up again, all seems to be fine........

I am wondering if maybe just one pin on the svga connector plug wasn't making contact?

Damn computers.....

I've had a Hanns G 22" widescreen for a couple months now. So far so good with mine, sorry you're having issues. Hopefully it was just the cable.

That could be, or one may be bent. I confess your "fix" made me chuckle. How many times when working in tech support did I go through numerous routines to solve a problem only to have the customer reboot their system and the issue was mysteriously corrected? Made me just want to bang my head on the desk. Now it's often my first recommendation; reboot, reconnect, restart.
