| Principled Observer Location: Toledo, Ohio Posts: 13,873 | Anyone have a Hanns G monitor? I purchased a new flat screen monitor November of last year, and it is already starting to die.(or so it seems) Up until yesterday, it only had one problem, which was "one" dead pixel, a problem I could easily look past. Today, I wake up and turn on the machine, coffee in hand, ready to debate, and I find my monitor isn't working on the right 3/4 inch of the screen, from top to bottom. I have tried changing frequencies, resolution, adjusting the view range, everything I can think of..... but still a 3/4 inch strip down the right side of the screen is dead. Any ideas as to what would cause this OTHER than monitor malfunction or failure? P.S. My monitor is a Hanns G: HC174A, 17" monitor. You'll probably need to run it full screen. It fixed a dead pixel on my LCD, maybe it'll work for your screen. I am messing with it, checking on my warranty and pulling all my tricks out of the book (not many) but I will let you know when I make some progress, or try that.
