Make dinosaurs from the dna found in the frozen wolly mammoth, for instance. Why is it not possible, or is it? Just had to ask for him.
Since we have come so far in cloning, then why would we not be able to take ancient DNA and make new living creatures from it.? If it were preserved in say, a mosquito from B.C encased in a chunk of amber or fossilized?
What do you think>? Is it possible, even remotely, and if we could, would we ressurect the dinosaurs. I would like to, maybe in a safe location.

As I understand it, there is no viable DNA left from the dinosaurs, since in fossils the organic material has, over the millenia, been completely replaced by rock.

As to ancient organic lifeforms such as frozen mammoths or insects locked in amber, DNA deteriorates with time and becomes useless.

The Discovery Channel says it's not possible, but others cling to the idea of possibly cloning a mammoth in the uterus of an elephant.

Well, for one, mammoths are totally different from dinosaurs. So even if we could clone a mammoth, we couldn't clone a dinosaur from one.

There is an odd way in the future that we may come up with something like mammoths and dinosaurs. I process of backward evolution.

For example, the genes of many traits of extinct species still exist in the genes of today's species, but they have been turned off or altered. Many birds still have the genes for teeth. As we map the genes of more and more animals we can possible turn the clock back on evolution.
