| Lee Location: Buean Vista, Co. Posts: 149 | The 22nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference takes place in Milan, Italy from September 3rd through the 7th of this year. More than 2000 scientists and 3000 visitors will attend this Conference. So, I hope that later this month there will be some press coverage about the technology that was presented there. | Lee Location: Buean Vista, Co. Posts: 149 | Colorado State University researcher W. S. Sampath has discovered another thin-film conductive material cadmiumtelluride. Like, Vivian Alberts, Sampath spent years of research in finding this replacement for silicon. AVA Solar, located in Fort Collins, Co., is looking at sites in the cities of Fort Collins and Loveland and intends to build a large thin-film solar plant using the cadmiumtelluride discovery of W. S. Sampath; furthermore, AVA Solar has received a large grant from the Department of Energy as one of the 13 " incubator projects" which are being developed in cities around the country with these Federal funds. AVA Solar hopes to have a thin-film solar plant operational by the end of next year. Ascent Solar Technologies, located in Littleton, Colorado, plans to use the CIGs technology and hopes to have its own thin-film solar factory in operation sometime in 2009.
