As a child's IQ rises, his taste for meat in adulthood declines, a new study suggests.

British researchers have found that children's IQ predicts their likelihood of becoming vegetarians as young adults -- lowering their risk for cardiovascular disease in the process. The finding could explain the link between smarts and better health, the investigators say.

Full Report
Which IQ test? There are several, each equally invalid. Also, correlation does not mean cause.

The other issue that is being addressed by the study is that an optimally healthy body necessarily implies that our brain will also function optimally. When you see high profile leaders who themselves are not exemplary in their health you have to wonder about what that says about those they are leading...

I'm not sure which IQ test, it isn't mentioned in the report, I would say that what ever test was used it was uniformly applied to all the children under-taking the test.

there is a correlation that is concrete though (will find some evidence) but I heard that less than 8% of MENSA members say they believe in a god.

I'm certainly not religious, more spiritual. A God......hmmm. I'm a little uncomfortable with the connotations that accompany the use of the word God. If God means anything it would be a feeling of connectedness with the universe & especially ALL life, if there is a God the place she would be most evident is at the heart of all living things.... But we aren't going there, right??

So you're saying that our leaders health will cause me to be less of a person if their health is not exemplery? I choose my own life, not the leaders above me. The leaders of this country who's health is inadequate doesn't hinder my ability to be happy and succeed in life. In fact, I'd bet if we had a vegetarian president, I'd still not be affected.

Measuring intelligence involves both quality and quantity. IQ has everything to do with the first and nothing to do with the last.

A person can have a high IQ and be devoid of knowledge. Conversely, a person can have a wealth of knowledge and have an IQ that's bumping along the bottom.

IOW, IQ measures reasoning ability (thinking, deducing, applying logic) and NOT acquired knowledge.

What I have found is that as IQ increases, so does anti-social behavior. A large percentage of geniuses exhibit criminal tendencies. Therefore, one would expect to see many of these elite involved in raking and tillage. It's only obvious that they would eat what they have sown.

Question: Wasn't Jeffrey Dahmer a genius?

P.S. You have to eat meat. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

lol.

I guess that depends on if you aspire to be more than just another brick in the wall.

Well?

I would question material and methods of those researchers first. Why did they study it at all? Perhaps they were motivated by animal rightist ideology.

lol. Yeah, but the jesting is in reference to having to eat your meat to get your pudding -- and hence giving up unique differences to fit in.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Simple intellectual curiosity may often lead one to study things.

That is their right. What is not their right is forcing others to do their bidding at the point of a gun, as your group pushes for in law.

LMFAO! Ok, OFE, I will bite. What example specifically are you referring to that shows ARists forcing others at the point of a gun to do something for them? You mean like threatening former Senator Bob Dole to help get the Animal Welfare Act passed?
ARist: Bob, if you don`t go to the Hill for us and endorse legislation to protect animals, we are going to kill your wife.

Bob: Ok, ok, ok. I will go to the Senate and introduce animal legislation for you. After all, you have a gun to my head forcing me to do it.
Is that it, OFE? Do you have some scenario like that up your sleeve ready to spring on us? Please bring it forth. Oh, so funny, I have to quote it in part again...

If material and methods were faulty, the conclusions are not valuable; they are just political propaganda. This is so typical of AR. They mislead people, pushing on emotions and avoid serious discussion. This is how they execise censorship in their forums, but they enter other forums, in which they are tolerated. This is what you do, Sir.

The researchers found that 4.5 percent of participants were vegetarians. Of these, 2.5 percent were vegan, and 33.6 percent said they were vegetarian but also ate fish or chicken.

...

There was no difference in IQ score between strict vegetarians and those who said they were vegetarian but who said they ate fish or chicken, the researchers add.
The article is poor proof. It doesn't mention the actual correlation, and it isn't even counting true vegetarians.

If only I could saith, so should I.

Using law, and the guns of enforcement to remove choice from American consumers on irrational logic, a warped view of nature, and denial of the FACT that people can and will choose to eat meat.

You are nothing but a group of political activists using the law as a weapon, as opposed to a tool of equality and individual empowerment.
