Anyway, this article highlights some strange issues, including whether or not people really need electronic devices in their shoes. Grandpa h. These f***ers are just trying any angle to justify tracking people. Any excuse will do. Last edited by Matt W; Dec 2, 2006 at 09:57 pm. |

| Magma Posts: 1,032 | If many people choose not to go with RFID chips in drivers licenses, don't you think they'd consider removing em? Think about it, not just about the individual rights, but on a larger, business-type scale, because that's how our government works. If most people choose not to go with RFID, that will cause car sales to lower, it will decrease productivity in most industries, and be generally bad for the economy. Therefore, the government will be forced to cease making these RFID chips and hopefully listen to what people have to say about this stupid technology. "You can only see as far as you think." Good thinking, and you're speaking to the choir by the way. But do you really see people boycotting on a lage scale. I know I will remove mine the old fashoined way, I'll cut it out of there. But what about everybody else? | |

| Magma Posts: 1,032 | that's not a bad idea at all! but what if you get pulled over and they have an rfid scanner and they make it manditory to have the drivers license with the rfid in it? | don't care Location: NY Posts: 267 | dude...I think they're just trying to make it easier to catch and identify criminals. I don't think it's some US scheme to track people and monitor them. What loser would spend his entire life doing that? Come on. And so what! Who cares if they plot where you run? Does it really matter? What are they going to do shoot lasers from satellites? Lasers that don't exist on satellites? You guys are paranoid. Especially you milton. You have to draw your "line in the sand" in a defendable position. If you have retreated beyond the area where your voice matters, you will have no bargaining chips to bring to the negotiations. That is why I say the time to revolt is near. ( well, it's past actually ) The fact is, most people are either too soft, have too much to lose, or are too ignorant to realize that "We the People" should be shooting treasonous traitors, and seditious scoundrels already. ( Sorry if my use of the word "too" is completly incorrect. ) |

| don't care Location: NY Posts: 267 | So you'd rather not have ID milton? I could impersonate anyone is that correct? The point is that these Nike shoes aren't some global plot, they're just a simple invention. I'm not worried about that aspect as much as the potential for constant surveillance by Big Brother. Perhaps people with more to lose would have more issues along those lines, but I don't really exist in the "electronic identity" world where anything of mine could be stolen. Quote:
Sure they are, but just watch how they end up being implemented. First it'll probably be the Post Office, all in the name of "tracking those packages". Then some other company will decide they like the technology, and then it's everywhere. ( Think video surveillance, and how that technology proliferated throughout an entire industry, or two, or three. ) No, I'm scred wheen people with a track record like those in Washington have this type of technology at their disposal. I say revolt before the nano-revolution, or it''s curtains for free people everywhere. | |
