Hey, if you are a Christian and came here to argue the point, how about participating in all the other threads that are not restricted to knowledge of the bible?
I began a thread on creation stories to introduce Christians to other creation stories and hopefully discussion of why we should believe one over the other, and I could be wrong, but I think Christians avoided this thread.
I began a thread about enlighenment verses being saved by Jesus, to introduce Christians to another way of thinking about our salvation, and only non Christians have responded.
The meaning of the word literate isn't limited to the mean the ability to read. It also refers to the amount of reading a person does. Democracy was not found in the bible until there was literacy in Greek and Roman classics, and it is dying because we no longer have literacy in Greek and Roman classics. WORSE! Christians are falsely claiming they created democracy, and that they rightly own the whole United States, and they attempt to take over our government has begun a holy war between Christians and non Christians with the government of the US at stake.
Our Statue of Liberty holds a torch for enlightenment and a book for the literacy that is essential to enlightenment. We now have a holy war with the government of the US at stake, because Christians study the bible and have vocational training, but are other wise illiterate.
Tocqueville pointed out this problem in his book "Democracy in America" published in 1835. He began his book with an enthusiastic discription of democracy, and concluded with a nightmare vision of what all Christian democracies would become, and he was very accurate. Huge impersonal bureacracy over the people, that so well takes care of the people, they are left with nothing to do, but hopefully praise their government, as Christains imagine heaven with nothing to do but praise a God. This is not heaven but a hell, and we are fighting for control of the government of the US.
