It's sad that we know more about the Bible than you seem to.
I find this is often the case.

In my time debating christians, i have found maybe 8-12% of them actually read the bible, and most of those dont take any stock in it. They still believe in jesus and all, but think the bible is exactly what it is: an unreliable book created by men, and subject to mistranslation, fraud, and simple copying mistakes that were COMMON in the days before the printing press when books were copied by hand.

The Bible defines what faith is, “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). That does not, in any way, match what you're talking about with regard to cars. We see evidence all the time that cars start, millions upon millions of cars are on the roads every single day. That's not faith. That's evidence.

It's sad that we know more about the Bible than you seem to.
I have already mentioned this. The evidence is seen, yes I agree. But you still require faith that it will happen the next time. You will feel this doubt of faith, the first time your car, bus, whatever, lets you down. You will be wondering if it will start when you want it to.

Without the spirit of Christ, if you are indeed and atheist, you will not understand it better than I, though you may more than some.

You are talking about something metaphysical, transcendent. If it could be seen, there would be little point of faith, would there
how do you know its metaphysical or transcendent? what other metaphysical or transcendent things do you have to compare with? and if you cant actually test it, how do you know you arent simply delusional and believing in something that your mind is making real for you?

How about this, then: pray to your god to give you the knowledge to not make the same tired claims that christians make all the time. How about he grant you the ability to produce a fresh, new argument that actually has the backing of peer reviewed evidence?

Are you saying that peer reviewed evidence is beyond your god?

The analogy is this: if I see a pea placed under one of three cups, I know which cup it is under. period. If you then enter the room, you will not. So you will try and work it out other ways. The person who knows, does not have to (even if perhaps they should)

The reason the book is written the way it is, is so IT CAN be misunderstood. That is the whole point

because I have the backing of EVIDENCE for my views. peer reviewed, hard evidence.

And, as I thought would happen, instead of actually answering my question, you simply dodge it.

How about answering it. How do you know that your belief is real and not a delusion created by your brain?
