Are we on board with reincarnation?

It mentions in the Bible that John the Baptist is the reincarnation if Elijah. Which makes me think there must have been some cultural beliefs in reincarnation way back at that time. It's hard to prove reincarnation but today we have more facts from History that can prove or better prove such an event.

11 year old boy reincarnated FOX 8 News - YouTube

The Video is compelling to me. I do believe it to be true. Perhaps a rare event but there is some historic basis for the belief in every culture i know of.

The Dali Lama is supposed to be reincarnated and they prove each new Lama by tests; that he knows intricate details only the Dali lama would know.

I am on board with this. I have no problem with it. Are you guys skeptical? Thoughts?
Finally, do you guys have any memories that could be from a past life?

Of course you don't possess memories of past lives. Memory is a physical phenomenon, and reincarnation must intrinsically exist only for consciousness.

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

interesting Angry that you call memory a phenomenon. I would expect scientists to explain away memory with no more importance or mystery than a random mutation. Peace.

Has nothing to do with 'mutation' - just chemical encoding mechanisms in place for hundreds of millions of years.

I think you are discussion this using different definitions of the same word.

    phe·nom·e·non (f-nm-nn, -nn)
    n. pl. phe·nom·e·na (-n)
    1. An occurrence, circumstance, or fact that is perceptible by the senses.
    2. pl. phe·nom·e·nons
    a. An unusual, significant, or unaccountable fact or occurrence; a marvel.
    b. A remarkable or outstanding person; a paragon. See Synonyms at wonder.
    3. Philosophy In the philosophy of Kant, an object as it is perceived by the senses, as opposed to a noumenon.
    4. Physics An observable event.

I believe AC is using the idea that is something observable more or less.

Since we're probably just conscious subroutines used in a vast computer simulation it's quite possible to be used in successive simulations without a proper memory wipe from the previous simulation. IOW, reincarnation is very common but remembering your "life" from a previous simulation only happens when the simulators are careless about zeroizing our memories. Anyway, that's my explanation for "reincarnation".

How could the brain store memories of past lives when the cells that compose the brain disperse and lose their synaptic connections after death?

You misunderstand, everything, including our brains, is a simulation running on a supercomputer of the future. We don't exist as physical bodies but rather as a computer program so in that respect this isn't even like the Matrix. No red pill will ever wake you up.

Have you ever played The Sims? Think of this as The Sims on steroids where the entire universe is simulated from the billions of galaxies down to sub atomic particles and the people you create have complete personalities. The operator can even decide on the physics of the simulated world. Kind of like god myths eh?

Our particular simulation may be running to find the solution to a very complex problem like global warming. We may be solving several interconnected problems simultaneously. We may just be entertainment for some humans of the far future.

I really can't find any major flaw with this Simulation Theory of Reality and it seems to answer a number of difficult questions currently explained by religions or rather attempted to be explained by religions.

I've been trying to come up with a test for the theory but that's difficult when we're part of the simulation and I have to assume that the simulators don't want us to know the truth or they risk contamination of the simulation.

The up side of this theory is that we have no choice but to carry on as if everything is real.

I'm on board with it. I personally love the idea of reincarnation. There really is no way to prove it, and I actually tend to doubt those who claim they've been reincarnated. But stilll, interesting and cool belief.

It's stories like this one that make me a skeptic. NEVER trust FOX "news" to bring you reliable information....

What they failed to mention was the WWII museum he visited months before. How convenient.

    Peter,

Your demonstration of the universe as we know it being a computer simulation is quite clever. However, would that philosophy not point to a "God the creator" or a Computer programmer of sorts making up our program ? Pulling the strings from afar or from close up; only a keyboard away?

If there is intelligence at any rate in the universe there would have to be a force behind the intelligence, true?

Lastly, if you are serious about proving your theory true I believe I can help. I have been thinking it too. Message me.
