Arguments Against God, I Will Refute

Calling all atheists out there, please present your best arguments against God and I shall refute these arguments.

Let's keep this a clean and healthy debate.

My position: Theist, I believe in the God of Islam.

    Shall We?

What's to argue? I am an atheist and agree that you "believe in the God of Islam".

I don't have any "arguments against God". I do not share the belief that gods exist, but that's based on my disagreements with theists on their reasons to believe.

Is an agnostic invited to participate as well?

I believe in you. I believe that we are connected with everything there is and that it is impossible to separate us from the whole or from each other. Whatever force is binding us together, I see no need to try to force it to conform to any human ideas or imaginings.

The very existence of God. All I see in this forum are atheists posting arguments, but I rarely ever see theists doing the same. So this is sole purpose of this thread.

Of course, I welcome all. But how do you know these are only human ideas and imaginings?

How would "prove" your belief that your specific "God" exists? or for the atheist, How would you "prove" your belief that no gods exists?

It boils down to belief, which is, IMO, not provable

The best type of correct is technically correct.

You must enlighten yourself with the knowledge from the Holy Book. It is the only way.

Read the book, understand it, then come back to me and tell me if you're still an atheist. If you can still say you're an atheist, then you're being dishonest.

And I disagree with your statement that beliefs are not provable. For instance my belief in a spherical Earth is provable beyond any doubt.

Classic. The response I expected. Anything besides a Holy Book? Christians can say the same thing, and other religions that have texts can say the same thing. Technically, I don't call myself an atheist. I prefer ignostic. I could classify as an agnostic atheist, but that's not what I call myself.

Okay, religious beliefs to be specific

I don't. That is just the most likely scenario. I spent most of my life as a Christian. I went to a Christian high school and graduated from a Christian College. I have studied the books of the “Law” and the other Christian religious writings in great depth.

Then, after studying the Bible from an "interpretational" perspective assuming its truth for all of those years, I began to study it from a "textual critical" perspective. What I discovered amazed me. I don't know much about "Islam" other than the texts that the two religions share in common. I have a feeling it would take another lifetime to study it in enough depth to understand it and give it a fair bit of consideration. I may actually begin to do that at some point. It is impossible for me to accept it on the sole basis of another person’s testimony or profession of faith. I wouldn't think any person who could take on a new religion without first learning everything there is to consider to be anything but paying it a disservice.

I agree. If there are a million text-based religions, it would be rather unwise and certainly impossible to study them all. But there isn't. And that is the way God has made it.

In fact there are three religions: Christianity, Islam and Judaism which are text-based. I have read all the books from each of these major religions. I have not only read them, I have understood them, and with a mindset of a skeptic atheist. I find Islam more logical, more reasoned, more scientific even, thus making it valid and authentic in my mind.
