    Occult Forces vs. Scientific Forces

What is the difference between occult forces and scientific forces?

The fact of the matter is that they both are immarterial.

Scientific forces have a mathematical reality. Occult forces do not have this.

Do you mean that they can be quantified?

What do you define to be an 'occult force', and what exactly are we debating?

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

An occult force could be a soul, astrological forces, etc.

This doesn't have to be a debate ... just a discussion.

It seems that the natural forces/bosons only have mathematical realities, not physical/material realities like matter (fermions).

'Force' doesn't exist. It is a verb, not a noun.

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

Where is the soul? What is it? Why has no one ever seen it?

Another key difference is that we don't even know what occult forces are, nor do we have any evidence that they exist. For all intents and purposes, they don't.

Not true. The word 'force' can be used as both a verb and a noun, as in "A force of ten newtons does not have anything to do with figs so quit trying to force your definition of words upon others.

But that force doesn't actually exist in any meaningful terms. It's the resultant motion on the two bodies in question which is quantifiable. Force is, fundamentally, a human construct, much like magnetic and electric field lines are inventions of ours for the purpose of understanding electromagnetic action at a distance.

    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

Also, untrue. Of course, the word 'occult' has more than one meaning but it is probably assumed that you are talking about supernatural forces (and not hidden forces). If occult forces are real then they are scientific forces though the science behind them may be occult (hidden). Nevertheless, since all forces exist (and do work) on the physical world, they are indeed material, much like energy.

As far as mathematics, mathematics does not exist, it is just a concept. Mathematical calculations are based on arbitrary data. 'Mathematical reality' is a oxymoron.
