In 2003 a man was arrested by feds on charges linking him to terrorism, they could not prove any of the charges made, other then that he might have donated to a Palestinian organization (jury was deadlocked on that charge). In a plea bargan the jailed suspect agreeded to be deported rather then face a retial. This was one of the most famous cases and concidered to be a defeat for Bush who used the arrest to prove that the USA is getting rid of the terrorist network. The jailed professor has been living in the USA for 25 years after leaving Eqypt, all his children were born here. The suspect had been asked to visit the White House twice and help out in the campaigne for the election of Bush to the White House.
