| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | New Pope gets very political in Easter Address. The news headline was "Pope prays for peace in Irag". I almost did not look at it because people have been praying for peace for years and never got the world peace they asked for. But when I did look he made lots of very political statements, during the Easter message. He advocated an ease to the violence in Irag, he advocated that nation would find ways to calm down the nuclear problems related to Iran, and he prayed that someday Palesitians would have their own state next to Isriel. It seems most of what he prayed for is being prevented by our President. The news stroy did not qoute him saying anything about how the resurection of Jesus on Easter could save peoples souls. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12319594/ Is the new Pope more politcal then religious? Anyway, some of you will do doubt have something debatable to say about this? |

The article writer didn't clarify something important: the Pope's prayers for ( and remarks concerning ) Iraq And Etc were made during a portion of the Liturgy Of The Mass in which the Priest and Laity may offer up ( either vocally or silently ) any prayer they like. For example: Celebrant ( Priest ): "For peace in Iraq, we pray to the Lord" All: "Lord, hear our prayer." and so on and so forth. The Homily ( sermon ) portion of the Mass, abit earlier, would have contained the Pope's Easter message. |

Anyway, if some can declair a holy war, then why not a holy peace. The angels are having a hard time trying to please everyone, when we have some folks asking for holy wars and justice and other folks asking for peace and foregivness. The angels must be a bit confused "what do those earthlings really want anyway?" |

Remind the catholic cult followers that they are buying the bombs and bullets. They are all guilty of the murder of innocent children. They will go to hell for eternity if they pay taxes. Edit to add: Now, that would be a political pope. Until then, he is a hypocrite. Last edited by gr8fuldaniel; Apr 17, 2006 at 12:26 pm. |

If its ok for the government to kill for profit, it stands to reason we should all be allowed the same privelege. Hell, they killed Jesus, didnt they. And that was the ultimate GOOD!! Right? |
