| Molten Ash Location: Amherst, NY Posts: 57 | Should we allow the government to conduct new tests using machines on humans by implanting microchips into their brains and controlling them via machines? Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955) Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. Who gives permission for them, or does the government get the right to just take them as guinea pigs? | Molten Ash Location: St. Thomas U. S. V. I. Posts: 146 | Thank you for clearing that up. The way you said it threw me off. That is pretty scary though if you look at it the way you are. I am not too sure if that is good or bad. It would be a far stretch to thinks that the computer would malfunction and cause an invalid to go on a murderous rampage. | Molten Ash Location: Amherst, NY Posts: 57 | lol kinda like frankensteins monster. In theory the invalid would be controled by the machine and not its body so theoretically with time the government might corrupt this new technology for bad purposes or like you said the freak accident might occur and we will have no way of stopping a monster. | 9/11: Inside Job Location: Hawai'i, Big Island Posts: 10,438 | Interesting topic. If the research is to allow those with physical impairments to interact and have some control over their environment, I'm all for it. When I first saw the topic listed, I thought of the other, more sinister experimentation that has been whispered at length. Stuff about mind control. That technology apparently works the other way, with the implant having the control over the person. I know I'm gonna get a lickin' for this post, but when the CIA has so many true believers bedazzled and a $30 billion annual budget, anything is possible. Does anyone think they're too ethical for such a thing? http://www.parascope.com/ds/mkultradocs.htm Anyway, it's off the thread... | Molten Ash Location: St. Thomas U. S. V. I. Posts: 146 | CIA of the MKULTRA days was much different. They had different things to deal with as far as the media goes. They are not so stupid now. If experiments are being done you can bet it would be on non-American citizens. Gitmo? They are smart enough to know where to get a job...They would probably stay home in hispanicland if they could get any kind of decent wages. Too bad for them organizing workers gets you thumped south of the border.
