I'm nat talking dollar amounts, I'm talking scandal. (Ironicaly, the mention of the Savings, and Loan scandal might have prevented Bush from becoming President, had it been brought up by anybody in the press.) |

| Anarcho-capitalist Posts: 1,972 | I saw this article earlier on a different site. Gotta love the guy. Now if we still had more of his types around in the Republican party we wouldn't be seeing this political collapse in D.C. but you can't undo it. To me he represents a breed of heroic figures that we've slowly bred out of society. He a smart guy, a doctor and he's dropped out of politics before and come back - it's not a career for him. Wouldn't you love to see politics take a back burner and become a part time thing in the U.S.? We could pay them to take extended vacations and not come to "work"! Here's a capitalist solution to the federal government - have Americans pool $10 billion (that's ~$33/head) in contributions and pay Bush and Congress to take a couple years luxurious vacation on a tropical island ... or anywhere far away ... ![]() Freedom - are you man enough to handle it? | Molten Ash Location: Texas Posts: 101 | That is an interesting idea, SteveA. There a local bank in a suburb of Fort Worth that has been trying that for several years. It has always been a family bank. The current owner likes to make people happy. He used to loan money to anyone that wanted it. The board decided to pay him a million dollars a year not to enter the bank. He looses $100,000 in salary each time he enters the bank. |
