Out of the mire of overtaxation, NH is one of the LEAST offensive beacons in the nation.

How should states tax? Florida for instance has sales tax, counties impose property taxes and there are fees for 911 on phone bills is that overtaxation? I know West Virginia overtaxes dear god it's terrible.

Is that even taxation?

I feel taxation for any service, or need that is not directly voted in by the citizen voters, is a dis-service of our elected officials in presumption.

I also feel that if we would have been kept to the system of apportionment, this would not be a nationwide issue.

I know that living in Ohio, I am well versed in examples of over taxation.....

We have of course, income tax in Ohio, as well as S.S. deductions, FICA, Medicare.

We of course also have state income tax deductions.

We also have local county deductions.

We also have city deductions.

We also have city COUNCIL imposed "sin" taxes on alchohol and cigarettes, cigs bearing the brunt of the load, equalling over $1.00 per PACK! This brings cig carton prices to $29.70 per carton for Columbian generics, and $41.75 per carton for name brands like Marlboro.

We have an additional 3/4% tax on city taxes, for police and fire coverage they can't maintain.

We have sales tax on all goods, except produce I believe.

We have ridicuolous national gasoline taxes.

We just had a $15.00 increase in vehicle license fees and tax, bringing that to $54.00 for passenger cars.

We have a "dine-in" tax at all food service businesses.

We have a never ending increase in taxation based on yearly tax abatements given to corporate swindlers in a bid to offer the lowest tax to them to utilize our resources of labor and market availabililty. (Jeep, GM/Hydramatic, Ford, Chrysler, Johnson Controls, Delphi, Sunoco, Standard Oil, Citgo, British Petroleum, Owens Illinois, Owens Corning, Libbey Owens Ford, Pilkington, etc....)

Our property tax in Toledo, for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with un-attached garage on a postal stamp lot in the lower-class suburbs.... $607.00 per HALF. ($101.?? per month)

Ohio has MANDATORY insurance laws, meaning you MUST insure or provide secured bond for licensing and registering a motor vehicle.

And oh, how long the list goes on..... check out all the extortion here in its fine printed detail.
(Please note that "before" beloved Governor Taft enacted his new "sweeping" tax reform, his approval rating was a whopping 6%, and the results of this have not shown any difference yet.)

This area is one of the most over-taxed, under served areas in the nation I would wager. I would also wager this state has one of the most extreme differences in % of support for government officials and actions.
