Schwazenegger had no motorbike license...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4601822.stm

Quote:
Arnold Schwarzenegger did not have the proper licence to drive a motorcycle when he crashed at the weekend, Los Angeles police have said.
The California governor and former action movie star required 15 stitches to his lip after being injured in the traffic accident in Los Angeles.

Questioned by reporters, he admitted he had never applied for the right licence after moving to the US in 1968.

"It was just one of those things that I never really did," the governor said.

The admission may mean he has been breaking the law for years.

Los Angeles police say they have forwarded the case to the city attorney's office for possible prosecution.
What a genuis....

Actually, a motorcycle with a sidecar, such as what he was riding when the accident happened, does not require a special license to operate. So long as he has a valid California driver's license and only operates a motorcycle with a sidecar, he's perfectly legal.

However, if he has broken the law otherwise, he deserves to be ticketed as anyone else does.

The Governor of California hasn't bothered to obey the law in 30 years and it's not news? Really?

The planet is falling apart and that's your biggest concern?

Wow, must be nice.

It's rather tragic that we have all this media at our disposal for freedom of expression and it's basically used for (pardon my profanity) an eat shit/fuck you mendacious shouting match in many cases.

Now if he had only used the same stuntman as he used in the motorcycle scene from the Terminator, he would have avoided all this. What was he thinking?

Gents, I would suggest re-reading the rules of Volconvo: if you're not interested in a thread, then don't post.

I personally think it's somewhat worrying that the Governor of the USA's most famous state never bothered to respect the rule of law upon emigrating there. And they're talking about changing the law to make him eligable to become President. But hey, not my country, so who am I to care?

It's not a matter of not being interested, it's an honest evaluation that people are stuck on the minutia and ignoring any real issues. Yeah, sure, Arnie didn't have a little sticker on his license that said he could ride motorcycles. So what? Why is there such attention on something as mindless as this when there are a lot bigger fish to fry?

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of motorcycle riders don't have the proper licensing, it's usually one of those things that most people just ignore because it's one of those things designed by the state to get more money out of people. Apparently, he's been a competent motorcycle rider for decades now and had someone not backed out in front of him and caused an accident, no one would have ever known that he didn't have that stupid little sticker. He's *STILL* a competent motorcycle rider, for crying out loud.

But of course, let's make a mountain out of a molehill, it must be a slow news day.

Cephus, you must see the irony of the top law enforcer of California being a scofflaw!

And claiming that there are other more important issues just means that you are intruding on this thread, contrary to the rules. You got more relevant issues? Then talk about them, in the appropriate thread and avoid this one. Capisce?

The terminator is missing a lot more than a bike license. That's why he married into the Kennedy family. He is also missing a whole bunch of votes!

What do you expect with a liberal Democratic wife?

I'm guessing he married into the Kennedy family for their wealth and power.

Mindless? If this law is mindless are there other that we all can disregard as well? Did he swear an oath to obey all laws, including the mindless ones, when he was granted citizenship? Does he represent "Model Citizenship"? I have the little M, (actually I have the BIG M1, which permits me to ride the big bikes) but you are saying it is unnecessary?

We have laws for a reason, nobody is above that.

Then he shouldnt have any trouble getting the upgrade. They even publish the handbook and test in Nazi, but you have to identify road signs in english. Until then he is an outlaw when he rides. Sidecar is an exception, but by his own admission that is not the only bike he rides. I say ship him back, he broke his oath. He can start all over and we can have Gray Davis back. Gray Davis is fully qualified to run up debt like Arnie, and he speaks english as a bonus. But thats a topic for another thread. This thread is about legitimacy.
What other laws are OK to break?

Because it's not an important law.

There are laws about jaywalking as well, and no one bothers to obey them.

Not to mention speeding.

Thats CRAP! If he were competant, he would have that endorsement. Its the only thing that makes sense. Its a tough test and I had to dispute one of the answers to get my license. They had a trick question that could be answered correctly with 2 different answers. I won the dispute. Now I have the priveledge to ride. Not the RIGHT. If it were a right, I wouldnt need no steenking license...... Like our goddamn gubner. I am not starstruck, and the California Highway Patrol is not Arnies bitch.

For your scrape book:

Maybe he can learn to speak english with his newborn mouth

He was riding a motorcycle with his son at the weekend when a car reversed in front of him, his spokeswoman said.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, 12, who was riding in the motorcycle's sidecar, was treated at hospital for cuts and bruises, she said.
What kind of message is Arnold sending to his son? That Nazis are above the law?
