| Hot Lava Posts: 1,301 | Silence for Alito? Considering the amazing leaps of logic made yesterday concerning the conclusions drawn from the Judge's past statements as to what kind of society his appointment to the Supreme Court would bring, I am surprised to find that there are no threads for the man. So I dedicate this thread to the man who is very likley to become the next Supreme Court Judge. I look forward to the "day after assumes position" reversal of Roe v Wade, followed closely by the coronation of our new "War-King" George. Together, they will quickly eradicate those pesky "Constitutional Rights", for our protection naturally. |

Here's a link to a brief BBC commentary on the matter, which also includes Alito's answers to the committee questionnaire: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4586068.stm I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. Hard for me to judge, and in this case, I have to trust the nearly entirely corrupted Congress to do this for me. Worrying about it in the process, will do nothing for me, so I have to sit and watch as a spectator until time brings out his true being. The bit that I watched of his coverage, was rather "safe" in the sense of walking a tightrope over a gorge of astronomical size and scope. We all know a wrong word about belief or affiliation could crucify him before he even makes a decision, especially when being asked such questions by questionable men to begin with. It will be interesting to see what ends up in the outcome. | Hot Lava Posts: 1,227 | Alito rose his way to the top kissing ass. He carefully crafted his writings to please conservative right wingers. His writings shows he has no brains. But then again any sign of a brain is a sure way to get kicked out of conservative right wing circles. Ass kissing and incompetence is a must to rise in this country. Alito and Jack Off flock together. Jack Off whom is singing right now in a plea to get a slap on the wrist is no doubt glad Alito will get to the bench, nudge, nudge, wink, wink. The reason Alito is like Jack Off is because Alito was hearing cases that he(Alito) has an interest in. And what do you know, the ruling favored the party Alito has an interest in. Blatant conflict of interest doesn't stop Alito, just as blatant pay as you play doesn't stop Jack Off. The current corrupt party in power will no doubt pick a similar ass kissing, stupid, incompetent, an all around Scalito clone. So instead of three judges we will have one, which is Clarence, Alito and Scalito the judge that doesn't know the Constitution from a roll of toilet paper. All three all alike, all idiots, all the time. Last edited by Boetie; Jan 10, 2006 at 11:54 am. |

Dems, you need to put the poor guy out to pasture, he's making you folks look awful bad, wow! It will be a slam dunk for Alito, the Dems are going down in flames, AGAIN ! And what does this have to do with Alito? Nothing. Delusion- A persistent false belief held in the face of strong contradictory evidence. (i.e. religion) Shared via G reader Blog

It had a lot to do with Alito because Alito was the subject matter that Ted was discussing, correct? You get up and tell the world that this judge should not be nominated because he cannot be a good judge, and you can't even pronounce his name?, c'mon.

I find Alito so far to be a rather bland person. I found his opening comments about his days at Princeton during the late sixties to be troubling. He basically seemed to disdain the action of many of his fellow students at the time. I assume he was referring to the anti-war protestors during those years(Correct me If I am Wrong). He seemed to compare those protesting students at the time with his local neighbors he grew up with in Trenton NJ. Interestingly I grew up in New Jersey and went to Puplic High school during those same years. I don't know what he is talking about. That was a very confrontational time at my public school. THere were riots, Bomb scares, race issues. It wasn't a nice time to say the least. My parents who raised us well encouraged us to spend our free time at Princton University attending sporting events, public skating a Princeton's Baker rink. I played in a youth hockey league that used Baker rink. Princeton was not some radical University at the time unlike Colubia University or Berkley. I question where he is going with this opening comment.

I bet you're one of those types. If so could you show me ANY document in ANY govenment aside the US Constitution you would claim has alternative meanings pending on the view of the person reading it? Ever hear of this thing called, an Amendment? Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

I think you have to connect the dots here. Alito was a member of some ultra conservative group that tried to stop the admmission of woman to Princeton and supposedly had some kind of racial prejudice in it. Its hard to believe that he would forget a group that had this as part of its agenda. Last edited by tilefish; Jan 10, 2006 at 05:31 pm.

| Liberated thinker Location: New Mexican Alps Posts: 1,921 | From what I've read here few even know what Alito said or did. tilefish decries Alitos concern with the oppressive attitude of Princeton about military on the campus. I heard him say today he was in the ROTC program at the school and was not allowed to attend and had to get his ROTC credits at Trenton State( a neighboring school) This oppressive Princeton school regime which gave way to draft dodger and cowards during the Vietnam Warwould turn any fair minded person off! Alito joined a campus group obviously to try to protest what was going on and is now branded as having joined an extremest group..It was he who was discriminated against. He was not allowed to get credits he was paying for. The fact that Princeton became CO-ED shoots down any protest that might have been made. That unreformed drunk, Kennedy, as usual mumbled his false accusation and then when he got a rational answer didn't follow up...he just pulled another slanderous comment out of his jumbled brain. Taking another deep breath he ranted on in his usual disjointed nonsensical way. He was like many of the other Democrat assassination team not well enough prepared to ask follow up questions. Any one who votes for a drunk, who got kicked out of school for cheating, killled his girl friend by abandoning her to drown, and caused his wife to become a hopeless alchoholic ought to have his head examined. Any one who bwlieves his stumbling diatribe at these hearings is in even worse shape!. The guy is a national disgrace! Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |

2) Again I stand by Kennedy's comments as being clear and concise. Disagree fine . It should be noted that both Republican Bill Frist and Dem. Bill Bradley denounced the group as extremeist back then. 3) I never "decried" anything about Princeton's ROTC program or lack of there of. But as long as we are on that subject I applaud the protests to the senseless war effort in Vietnam during that era. It saved alot more young Americans from being killed. BTW I do not feel those that served were to blame for the Vietnam fiasco they served there country honorably the country used them. 4) Ted Kennedy has served his country by looking out for the common working man with health care legislation and helping seniors with medicare legislation. He has been suggested to be one of the most effective senators of our era. 5) Now if you want to talk about a "mumbling" politician lets talk about Bush introducing Alito yesterday morning at the White House. IMUS described it best. "He looked like a man drowning in a pool of words reaching for a dictionary" Question: I didn't get a chance to see all the testimony today did Alito offer his joining of the extremist group as a "obvious" protest? Or is that your take from the testimony?

Can you imagine Sam Alito sitting there listening to our liberal DemocraticGold Star Senators bicker over a letter. I'm sure Sam really rolled his eyes when the stuttering Senator got told to sit down and quit trying to run the show. What a farce. I hear that Alito's wife left the site in tears. The Democrats have no shame. Alito has done an effective hatchet job on these poor liberal has beens. Thanks Sam.
