Libertarian but don't favor killing the unborn. Also don't favor laws to say homosexual marriage is state approved.

If you were a true libertarian, you wouldn't believe the state should be involved in marriage altogether. Why should an agreement between two consenting adults be sanctioned by the state in the first place?

I have edited your poll to include "None of the above".

Society may be formed so as to exist without crime, without poverty, […] no obstacle whatsoever intervenes at this moment except ignorance to prevent such a state of society.

I think it's interesting how you've missed all left wing ideologies, plus far right and anarchic politics. It's a fine indictment of the political socialisation of the general American populace tody.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
Winston Churchill

I had to pick none of the above, though I tend to side with libertarian principles much of the time. Nevertheless, I am an anarchist at heart, seeing the libertarian ideology merely as an means to this end.

Conservative all the way. Against abortion, and will support the death penalty.

I'm a moderate with conservative leanings, so none really described me, but I picked conservative anyhow. I'm a classical conservative, nothing remotely like the asshole neocons currently in control of the government.

Jesus loves me? No thanks, I don't swing that way.

Why'd you do that? If someone doesn't want to reply, they don't have to. It's a voluntary poll. "None of the above" is not a political ideology. In fact, it's a political satirical joke to vote for "None of the above."

Hmmm. Not that it's a big deal, but I'm not sure I like someone editing my polls to significantly alter the results.

If there isn't a clear winner in the choice, people will opt out through the cop out.

While it may not be valid for your post, and your intentions of the post (which I can fully understand your dislike for post editing or poll editing) I still think it is a "sign" of the peoples aversion to being informed if being ignorant is a valid, accepted option.

Don't you love the "we're ALL winners" mentality?

ON TOPIC.

I voted Libertarian, because as the question was written, the Libertarian party MOST reflects my opinions, beliefs, and facts that I know of, from the selections given.

I vote economically-conservative:
  • Health Care?
    • Sure, but not too much.
  • Against Labor Unions
    • Don't go on a strike when a company fires 100 people, they are doing it to save a 1000 jobs and to keep in business in the first place.
  • Against unlimited immigration
    • ...of every poor African who wants to come here, unless they can prove they have something to offer.
  • Against Large State sponsored companies
    • Ineffective unless its railways or power. (look at the UK (railways), the Netherlands (railways) and California(power))
  • Against high taxes and regulations
    • Where did you want me and other smart people and businesses to emigrate to again?.
In general, people need opportunities and incentives, not handouts.

But I have a progressive stance on social issues.
  • Against death penalty
    • One mistake (someone killed while he was proven to be innocent later) is too many, better a life in jail.
  • Pro gun control
    • Works for us thus far, not to the extend we hoped, but I feel safer knowing no one has easy access to weapons. I feel less mistakes are made, and the general attitude of people is better this way.
  • Pro legalization of soft-drugs
    • Not much harm comes from doing pot, and it costs society far too much to fight it, which is ineffective anyway.
  • Pro abortion
    • It is NOT used as a contraceptive, it is NOT something which is considered lightly.
  • Pro gay marriage
    • If it makes you happy, sure go ahead, it won't make me feel my marriage is worth any less.
  • Pro European Union and International Collaboration.
    • The true way to mankind’s future lies in collaboration and understanding, not isolation and distrust. Besides, the world is my stage.
  • Anti-nationalism
    • Down with bigotry, arrogance and stupidity.

Oddly enough, the largest right wing party in the Netherlands supports this mix ^_^ (except for the nationalism thing... can't have everything I guess.)

I voted none of the above. cause i really dont know.

when they asked me what party I wanted to be when I got my drivers license I asked what are my choices lol and it gets better than that. after they told me my choices I asked what clinton was casue i didnt know I didnt like him yet.lol so I picked democrat.

i never voted untill this year. I am 28. I figured I knew nothing about what was going on so I had no business voting I feel strongly if you dont know why you are voting a certian way you shouldnt cast your vote...

on those political compass tests I got as follows
Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%.
Economic Left/Right: -3.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13

I dont know what that means but here ya go!

on other tests I have been told I was democrat. then people call me conservitive. I dont know what I am other than me lol!

I voted "mostly" republican this time becasuse of my stand on abortion.

Libertarian. Keep the government small and let the people be in control.

Because there are more political positions than the ones listed, perhaps? "None of the above" is not a joke, it's an honest representation of one's position.
