| pregnant with truth Posts: 2,351 | Best case scenerio for 2006 and 2008 elections This is a fantasy thread. I wonder what people would consider the best case scenerio for these next four years in general. Please post predictions in Zynners thread. I just want to know what people wish would happen, not what they think will happen. |

In an emergency ballot called for three days after election day, people pass the "Well, Maybe It Wasn't So Bad After All" act, deciding that they do, in fact, want a government. Then the entire nation carefully considers what shape we want the government to be, we elect representatives by a simple popular vote -- same numbe as the House seems okay, but that will be decided then -- and we hold a new Constitutional Convention. Whatever Constitution they come up with is discussed and debated, across the nation, in town hall atmospheres and on internet forums; portions are sent back to the Convention, or to a new group of delegates, and the document is rewritten. When we have something that all fifty states, and a 2/3 majority of EVERY citizen, can ratify, we'll have our new government. It will keep the best parts of the old Constitution -- I'll bow to our experts here as to what those parts are -- dump the bad parts (cough) Second amendment! (cough), and add new things that should be there, like the total lack of an executive branch with a single President. Give me that in '06. You can do whatever the hell you want in '08. It is literally impossible to see huge shifts in seat changes in congress now. Someone who actually voiced some concern about the deficit would be nice too. |

| pregnant with truth Posts: 2,351 | deadlock for a moment while America's people get their wits about them would be bliss. I think the 3rd party always exists just swinging back and forth. Now there's two extreme sides leaving a bunch of voters stranded in the middle. I wish that an actual independent movement would exist for a short while to bring the two extreme ends can come back to the table and we can get back to life. Then that party could dissapear back into the mist of the two party system. I love fantasy especially those sweet moments when fantasy meets reality. Like, when I _______ in the sunshine. |

| Hot Lava Posts: 1,227 | To the People of the United States of America, You have been lied to. Who benefited from this lie? Members of all three branches of government are millionaires or damn close to it, but without doubt they all have their economic security, their health benefits, their wants and needs are taken care of. Throughout this post millionaires and politicians shall mean the same and shall be interchangeable. But what about the rest of America? These millionaires lied to you. They drove a surplus into a deficit and they did this on purpose. They used the deficit to wage the real war, the war against the average American. Using the deficit as a pretext, they rationalized abandoning the needy, elderly, the weak. In spite of this abandonment they managed to bend to the will of one segement of our society and that is the wealthiest members, they never let those wealthiest members of our society down. The oil scandal. These millionaires they tell you free market will create competition and drive prices down. Did that happen in the oil industry? How is it that when all the oil companies raised prices not a single one applied that competition principle, you know the one that says oil company A sees his competitors raising prices so oil company A is going to get your business by lowering prices. It's almost a conspiracy that not a single top five oil company thought to compete. The tune of that song "free market, lower prices" suddenly changed to, "what's wrong with a little gouging, what's wrong with an obscene profit?" lovely tune for them. Goes to the same beat of Bush Jr's changing tune as to why we went to war in Iraq, it went from this to that. All these disasters are not by accident or misfortune they are created by the millionaires in all three branches of government. You don't believe me? Think about this then: The millionaires in the legislative branch put into law that government cannot negotiate lower drug prices. The reason for the above statement existence is political. It was done for Bush Jr; not for America. It was done so the Bush Jr brown tonguers can claim Bush Jr kept his campaign promise. It didn't matter how bad the bill is, all that matters is he came up with a drug plan. The rest is just a matter of screw you. As you can see Bush Jr's promise is: that government cannot negotiate lower drug prices. Hell of a promise. We got lied into a war. Three years ago millionaires in both parties successfully scared the American people into believing that the national security of the United States would somehow be threatened if we did not invade Iraq. These same millionaires now expect us to believe that U.S. national security will be jeopardized unless we continue to prosecute the war. To support the continued prosecution of the Iraq War, however, would require trusting the same millionaires who hoodwinked the country into that war in the first place. A growing number of Americans, therefore, have come to recognize that any administration dishonest enough to make the ludicrous pre-war claims of an Iraqi military threat and any Congress that through whatever combination of dishonesty or stupidity chose to reinforce these false assertions simply cannot be trusted. The real war is against you, all of you average Americans have become the target, it isn't terrorists, it's you, the millionaires wants to destroy. Last edited by Boetie; Nov 15, 2005 at 02:00 am. |
