Pentagon Kills Bonuses After Guards Re-Enlist, etc.

Report Warned Bush Team About Intelligence Doubts:
http://fairuse.1accesshost.com/news2/nyt057.html
"WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 — A top member of Al Qaeda in American custody was identified as a likely fabricator months before the Bush administration began to use his statements as the foundation for its claims that Iraq trained Al Qaeda members to use biological and chemical weapons, according to newly declassified portions of a Defense Intelligence Agency document."

US General: Iraq Insurgent Attacks Will Go On:
http://washtimes.com/upi/20051104-044356-8463r.htm
"A U.S. general in Iraq warned Friday that the insurgents would try and keep up their level of violence."

[Yeah, I know--this is a "no duh" sort of article...but it bears repeating.]

Pentagon Kills Bonuses After Guards Re-Enlist:
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/..._guardx05.html
"A Department of Defense decision to renege on war-time promises to pay bonuses to more than a dozen re-enlisting Washington National Guardsmen has sparked outrage from prominent elected officials and state National Guard officers working to rectify the situation."

[Yeah, that's how great the military is. Put your neck on the line for a bunch of liars, false promises and slashed rewards. You gotta love the ROTC's (pronounced raht-cies).]

Can we hear somebody spouting drivel about the proud American military and how happy they are to lay their lives on the line for Bush? Huh? Can we please?

Oh, some will defend this type of hypocrisy on each and every level.
Probably every powerful country in history insists "the freedoms this beautiful country
allows us to have are purchased by bloodshed and expansionism."
Then that country will eventually end up kicking its own ass.
Remember--the insurgents are reacting to us.

--- --- ---
"Pentagon officials have said in published reports that the bonuses were canceled because they duplicated other programs and were prohibited."
Yet another example that a bureaucracy can easily overcome a common sense.
I think that the whole case would be solved soon.
