Even more stunning: on every occassion, the phrase was introduced into the segment by a Fox News anchor or correspondent, never by a guest.

I have always wondered though, can they legally be sued or something for spreading such mis-information as news? Is it illigal? I am just curious.

Unbiased journalism is a standard (usually ignored these days) not a law. There's no law that requires them to be "fair and balanced". In fact there's no law governing journalism as to content.
It's up to the listener to search for substantiation themselves.

I liked the Daily Shows spin on this. Basically they turned it around to "the politicization of crime".

Somehow, that sits better with me.
