| blasphemer Location: Michigan Posts: 7,973 | Civil rights pioneer Rosa Park died Rosa Lee Parks, whose act of defiance in 1955 - refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man - was to change the course of American history, died Monday. She was 92. At least she lived long enough to see the results of her courage and defiance. Grandpa h. |

I commend Rosa Parks, and all those who share her spirit and determination to liberty and justice. She was the archetype for speaking truth to power. She will always be a personal hero. Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis |

It took courage to do it and this brave woman had an ample supply of that! I salute her for the push she gave to the abolution of racism! She fits the title of a heroine! Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |

I know we aren't supposed to be concerned with spelling in here, but all the honors, accolades, and eulogies ring kind of hollow if you can't even get her name correct. I am a fool, but I wouldn't compare my situation to Rosa's. It's not that bad yet. When the time comes, we can draw strength from Rosa and other heroes of her cause throught history. I'm pretty sure every race has been enslaved by another at some time in history. I'm probably wrong. Rosa has lived and died thousand times (not a religious statement). Remember her strength. | |

Enslavement can take many, MANY different forms, and economic enslavement as we have now, is the most corrupt, hard to decipher and understand, as well as the hardest to combat.
