| Hot Lava Posts: 1,227 | gr8ridejester, Allow me to rephrase my post. Bush Jr was strumming a guitar. As for Brown he was emailing fashion topics, he's a fashion god you know. Now do you think they would react that way if say a disater were to occur in some community of the rich? By the way their handlers do suggest they roll up their sleeves it makes it look as if they are doing something. |

No, really, the Katrina thing was much more involved than just the Bush administration or just Brown and FEMA. I will say this, however, it was a conglomerative governmental ineptitude that caused delays in Federal aide to the Gulf South. Yet, it was more from the local side. ![]() Back to the topic... With more businesses accepting credit/debit cards, checks and the internet expanding to become one of the largest (if not the largest) sources of commerce, I foresee the need for a tangeble currency (as in paper and coins) will be a thing of the past. I note, however, that it still requires the existence of money, as in dollars and cents, for exchange with other places. If Ithaca Hours became accepted worldwide, wouldn't they still be money? I do like the concept of having both, though. "Would you like some pie, Dr. Stark?" "Science is my pie. Curiosity, my sweet tooth. Knowledge is my candy." |
