Bush is a Tyrant

I have had a deepening disgust with the leader of America, and just thought I would start a thread to thrash his scurvy butt with facts. Feel free to join in with factual material about how his respect for our Republic is lacking. Yeah, yeah, his predecessors were worthless trash, too, but Dubya takes the cake.

For instance this: http://www.fff.org/freedom/fd0501c.asp
Quote:
On November 1, 2001, President Bush issued an executive order entitled “Further Implementation of the Presidential Records Act.” His order effectively overturned an act of Congress and a Supreme Court decision and could make it far more difficult for Americans to learn of government abuses. Jonathan Turley, a George Washington University law professor, declared that the executive order “effectively rewrote the Presidential Records Act, converting it from a measure guaranteeing public access to one that blocks it.”
<snip>
The White House completely misrepresented both the 1978 law and the new executive order. On the day after his surprise order, Bush commented, “We responded to a new law written by Congress that lays out a procedure that I think is fair for past presidents.” (Most 23-year-old laws are no longer considered new.) At a press briefing on the day Bush’s order was announced, White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said, “As a result of the new law that is now going into effect, and thanks to the executive order that the president will soon issue, more information will be forthcoming.” Fleischer insisted that Bush’s order was a triumph in open government because “under the existing procedures, existing law, a former president has the right to withhold anything for any reason, if they don’t want to make it public.”

That was ludicrous, since a post-Watergate Congress would not have passed a law to make presidents czars in perpetuity over the records of their actions in office.

Fleischer insisted that there “will be a 90-day time limit” on presidents’ right to review requests. Bush’s executive order mentioned 90 days, but a former president will be entitled to dally as long as he pleases.

After a journalist asked Fleischer about the new requirement for “people having to demonstrate their need for the information” about a former president’s actions, Fleischer snipped, “So you’re making guesses and judgments, all of which would indicate malfeasance or withholding of information by this administration. And I just can’t accept that; that’s not the case.”

The journalist responded, “So you are saying, trust us, it’ll all be fine?”

Fleischer snapped, “You are saying, we don’t trust you.”

Trust was the issue — regardless of whether Bush’s order was legal or constitutional and regardless of how much information could be hidden in perpetuity because of the new restrictions.
<snip>
Has the people’s “right to know” been replaced by presidents’ right to suppress?

Congress should reject Bush’s nominee for national archivist and should pass a law razing Bush’s Iron Curtain around presidential records. The more secrecy the government is permitted, the more lies the public will suffer.
He's covering for the abuses of power that are endemic in the White House. All presidents want their good deeds publicized...

I despise hypocrites like Bush. He claims to be a Christian, yet he admits to catapulting the bullshit....er propaganda. Here's an article that exposes
Quote:
50 False News Stories By Bush Propaganda Machine

Colonel Sam Gardiner (USAF, Ret.) has identified 50 false news stories created and leaked by a secretive White House propaganda apparatus.
that was written 2 years ago, so there is a lot that can be added to it.

Most recently the staged abuse of power, by the Propaganda czar and "not my" president interviewing troops. It just showed what a retard he is. If he were really cerebrally challenged he may have an excuse. There is no excuse for his degree of immorality.

Quote:
GITMO ABUSE

Concerns about abuse at Guantanamo are based on allegations made by "people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble [sic]." President Bush (05/31/05)
Quote:
And I have yet to hear from our commanders on the ground that they need more troops. President Bush (11/04/04)
Quote:
The Bush administration claims it has imposed “stringent new rules on power plant emissions”.

The new Bush rules gutted Clean Air Act restrictions to allow utilities to avoid having to install expensive new anti-pollution equipment when they modernize their plants. The EPA’s civil enforcement chief resigned in protest, while another senior EPA lawyer wrote to Christie Whitman that the administration “seems determined to weaken the rules we are trying to enforce.

It is well known that Bush Jr has zero diplomatic skills. Electing him president is the same as giving a five year old child a loaded gun. This is a fact because if a world crisis were to manifest itself do you think a person with zero diplomatic skills would be able to handle it? No not at all, such a person would just pull the trigger with his eyes closed.

In Bush Jr's case he pulled the trigger on the wrong target right in front of the whole worlds eyes. It's a fact that everyone in the world knows that if Bush Jr had been president when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Bush Jr would have went to war against, North Dakota, USA and given Japan a medal of peace award.

You may wish to become familiar with the concept of a "metaphor", which was what Boetie was using, with a bit of sarcasm throw in. Asking him to prove a remark that was clearly metaphoric and sarcastic is kind of silly, at best.

I think just goes to demonstrate that the version of history you read in a public school isn't an unbiased one. The victors (at least ones with an unconstitutional ability to legislate from the presidential throne) get to write it the way they want.

The biggest lie I remember was when he stated we wouldn't be nation building.

Bush's policies and indeed the practices of his administration trend sharply toward tyranny. The Patriot Act was the proverbial tip of the iceberg. The effective abolition of habeas corpus and the wholesale adoption of torture as public policy is despicable, to state the obvious.

It will be interesting to see how he reacts as his administration comes crashing down around him as we continue to lose the war in Iraq and as his senior aides are indicted. Bringing to mind the Chinese curse, we indeed live in interesting times.

Bush Jr may very well be on the phone saying: Daddy can I come home now this isn't fun anymore.

I feel the same way. It seems like there's been a plan for a lot of this stuff as it all tends toward the same direction and Bush wants to proceed on schedule, even if some people have to be dragged along kicking.

I remember when bush "won" the re-selection. He looked unhappy, disappointed. He was thinking "Its hard work". Remember how bad he lost all 3 debates? He was trying to lose. And did. Has anyone ever looked so ridiculous in a debate, yet still win an election? (Not counting Ashcroft, who lost an election to a dead man)

Bush has guts>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Clinton would be too busy in his office playing . For 911 he would have bombed two asprin factories and would have sent his Attorney General over to give then a lecture on gun control. Bush has been instrumental in setting up two governments in two different countries who were ruled by the likes of the Taliban and sent their leaders cowering in the ground. They woun't come out and fight, they just kill and maim, even women and children. If Bush had been in charge in Somalia the Blackhawk and its crew would have bee fully paid for, They knew we had a weak Pres. just as the bombers of the Cole.

You got a man in the office, but the problem today is: Do we really know what a man is!

If Bush Jr had any guts he would turn himself in as a war criminal. If anyone in his administration had any guts they would all resign so the country can get back on track again. If the media had any guts they would do journalism instead of being a White House stenographer. If the Republican or Democratic Party had any guts they would be representatives of the people instead of yes men to the top 10 percent of the nation.

Bush Jr has no guts as all of his appearances are in front of stooges and all of his appearances are scripted. This is the era of the no guts and to no suprise since most everyone in the administration are chicken hawks.

Do the Bush Jr this is how, put your right hand underneath your right armpit and put your left hand underneath your left armpit, now lift up your elbows and put them down repeat the lifting and putting down of the elbows now you are doing the Bush Jr.

Bush bought the Christian Coalition. These people seldom voted before 2000 and 2004. I have many friends here in Arizona who told me their Ministers told them to vote for Bush because he was a Christian. The churches got behind Bush because he promised to prohibit abortions and would also prohibit gay marriages. These are important for the Christians to legislate. All sins should be legislated against according to the religious right.

I've often wondered why but not being religious I never bothered to ask. I now realize it is a control thing. Ashcroft wasn't in the Attorney Generals seat a month before he began changing the words in his office. Abortion became a terrorist action. legalized assisted suicide (Oregon) becamer an abomination. etc. etc. He even spent $8000 tax payers dollars having a curtain build around the statue of Justice in the hall way in front of his office so the offending white marble breast would be hidden from his sensitive eyes. I sent him an email telling him if he were ever to visit the Sistern Chapel in the Vatican to promise not to look up! Even Bush got fed up with this awful man.

So the religious right came through in 2004 but amazingly did not put Bush over the top. I believe that many of the old Republicans couns not swallow the crap he ws spewing to manipulate the house and senate into passing his legislation. I just hope we can get through the next 2 and a half years without destroying the rest of America.

We can vote out the Conservatives in 2006 which means the whole Congress and about a third of the Senate. That is what I intend to do. I've warned my house and senate of the fact they would not be getting any vote from me, and I have been a Republican since 1953.

I hope so. It will be difficult without election reform. Plus, local media sources are being controlled in rural areas. If the Republicans gain seats in 2006, I'll be very worried.

That's right! "Free Speech Zones" are a frank acknowledgement of the chickenshit nature of BushCo.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_speech_zones
Quote:
Free speech zones (also known as First Amendment Zones or derisively as Free speech cages) are areas set aside in public places for political activists to exercise their right of free speech. Although such zones existed earlier, they gained more attention after the WTO Meeting of 1999 and have been used vigorously by the George W. Bush administration. Civil libertarians claim that they are used as a form of censorship and public relations management to conceal opposition from the public and elected officials. There is much controversy surrounding the creation of these areas - the mere existence of such zones is offensive to some people, who claim that the First Amendment to the United States Constitution makes the entire country an unrestricted free speech zone.
The Bush Tyranny is Orwellian in the use of language to confuse and manipulate public opinion so that their outrageously authoritarian agenda remains unchallenged. The United States is a free speech nation. To restrict protest to a designated area is tyranny. To call them "free speech zones" is a twisting of meaning that must be challenged directly.

The FBI has been running roughshod over individual liberties for as long as it has existed. Their abuses rise during war time. For the Bush administration to use the FBI to establish a fascist state would require a higher level of competence by both groups than either has shown of late.
