Miers Panel to Hear 'Explosive Testimony'?

Gag order lifted for ex-lottery boss claiming Miers kept 'lid' on Bush Guard controversy

Released from a gag order, Larry Littwin – the controversial former director of the Texas Lottery under Harriet Miers – is free to appear at the upcoming Supreme Court confirmation hearings to give "potentially explosive" testimony damaging both to President Bush and his nominee, according to WND columnist Jerome Corsi.

As WorldNetDaily has reported, Littwin allegedly was fired by Miers because he wanted to investigate improper political influence-buying by lobbyists for GTECH, the firm contracted to run the lottery.

Corsi believes that Littwin, according to an examination of hundreds of contemporary Texas newspaper accounts, will be able to establish under oath that the GTECH contract was preserved on a no-bid basis by then-chairwoman of the Lottery Commission Miers in order to "keep the lid on" the National Guard controversy involving then-Gov. Bush.

Harriet "Harry" Miers could be exposed for aiding and abbetting a felon (GWB)?
Interesting that this is published in Right-Wingnut rag "The WorldNet Daily".

Whaddya think?

As soon as I saw "...fired by Miers..." in that story I think I figured the outcome will be the Bush supporters dismissing anything this guy says as that of a "disgruntled former employee with a grudge" regardless of the guy's veracity. Unless he has corroboration or other solid evidence, then he will simply be "just another liberal Bush hater".

Would he still be disgruntled after winning a $300,000.oo decision?
Besides its the bush supporters who are marching this guy out. They dont like Miers. Thats the only reason World Net Daily printed this.

To the Bush people, he will always be "disgruntled" as long as he can potentially hurt their guy.

As for why they printed it, I'm kind of hanging on to my theory that she is meant to fail so a much worse candidate will go unchallenged by the Democrats. Of course I could be wrong but something tells me there is a reason so few Republicans back Bush's pick and it's a little too quick an about face to make me think its just prep work for the next election.

Bush can't run again and if he really believes he is some kind of agent for change for the right he has his golden opportunity to try and ram a far right winger through the GOP controlled Congress. This kind of chance doesn't come along often and I can't see Bush wasting it on Meirs, who seems a relatively benign candidate to me.

I'd love for all of this to be true, but I consider the source... WorldNutDaily. As Kilkee said on my Plame Indictments thread, I'll believe it when I see it.

.

I don't suffer from insanity... I thoroughly enjoy it
