| Molten Ash Posts: 64 | The five Shiites members of IGC refused singing the interim constitution that was planned today. They objected to two clauses regarding the Kurdish self-rule and the issue of presedency. http://news.yahoo.com/?tmpl=story&cid=514&...e_mi_ea/iraq_17 |

| Molten Ash Posts: 91 | OK, here we have the chance of a life time. A "new government" is being formed in Iraq, if each and every individual does not give their consent to be governed, can the "new government" of Iraq lawfully govern them? Here we have 5 members of the IGC refusing to sign the Interim Constitution can they be lawfully compelled to submit to this "new government"? I am a free Human Being and I have the right to ignore the State. I know my rights, I declare my rights, I exercise my rights and I damn well will defend my rights! Freedom is contagious, knowledge is the source of infection. Infect knowledge! Long live individualist-anarchism! |

Shiites believe as a majority they can have the whole country for themselves. |

| Volcanic Erupter Location: Mexico City Posts: 4,772 | Its a serious setback, but one which will be overcome. Both the degree of Kurdish autonomy and the shape of the presidency are subject to semantic manipulation, terms will be found, the articles re-worded. Sistani needs to project an image of power and this uniform Shia rejection does that well. But ultimately Sistani knows he's in more trouble confronting the Americans whose help he needs if Iraq is to remain whole. Obviously Sistani wants Iraq "whole" (one of the clauses deals with the potential for Kurdish secession). Et semel emissum volat irrevocabile verbum. Raúl M. Núñez Sheriff |
