When Will The Time Be Right

I notice that everyone associated with the government response to Katrina has been saying that now isn't the time to call people to account for any possible failures of that response. When will the time be right? Will it be just like it was when people opposed this administration's request for war powers? Remember? Then they said it was important that the nation be united. Give Bush the power so that we would not appear weak and divided and everything would work itself out. So, when the administration got what it asked for and those same voices attempted to speak out later, they were told, "If you opposed it, why did you vote for it?" Nice Catch-22, isn't it? Can we expect the same now? I'm all for just doing what needs to be done now to help those who were failed, but tell me when it will be ok to ask the questions that need to be asked and to hold those accountable that so obviously need to be held accountable.

Is my question boring?

I was waiting for someone else to respond. I agree that now is definitely the time to talk about it. I don't think that means we're losing track of the catastrophe. After it's been dealt with people will just consider it closed anyway.

If only I could saith, so should I.

Let us americans not just talk about it. We need to SCREAM it. We have to fight like it's the last battle. The inevitable upcoming legislation will probably try to deflect criticizm and further solidify the workings of a distrustful police state. I will not resign this time and wonder if I'm going crazy. We might even have to take our ranting away from the forum and outside the capitol or something extreme.

Based on past Bush administration policy, incompetence is rewarded, not punished.

I agree, Clarence. It is time to start screaming. Time to get mad and stay mad until things begin to change.

Apperently it's time to nominate justices. fast. Yeah, I think now is the time to complain. You'll know things are starting to happen for the good when the real doosies, like Bill Frist, start subtly bailing out on ol' W. We can't stop there and let to many of the rats scurry away. Can't let poor W be a scapegoat. I may not have voted for him, but he's still my president. Weird how I feel sympathy for the man. Where the Hell is Dick Cheney? Sorry, lsbskins. I hope I'm not off topic.
