I, as a Libertarian, believe the government is inept when administering most programs. For example, VA hospitals as opposed to Private health care. Specifying inadaquate armour plated vehicle for soldiers in Iraq resulting in countless and needless deaths. Private enterprise is better equipped at accomplishing the oversight of consumer products. The Underwriter's Labs is an excellent source for testing and approving consumer porducts. Consumer's Report's and their Labs are excellent private company that takes no advertising money when fairly judging automobiles, and almost every product offered to the consumer. Quote:

I would be willing to bet on any track record comparison you care to make. ( Not sure if one could actually complie statistics on such things, but I do know that some people still speak facorably of the BBB, whereas I see little positive talk about government policy, no matter what the topic. ) Quote:
You just articulated what they "do. They offer advice about the ruputability of of business. Something the smart consumer could often use before globalization. ( Another perfect example of how our philosophy is being strangled by the overreaching power of the Imperial President, and the stranglhold of power. ) I can't help it some of you have lost your perspective. I'm all grown up, and don't need a Nanny ( State ) telling what I can do, think, and say. You could say I'm not married to this whole Nanny State idea. I admit I can be a bit radical, and that turns some people off, but you have to remember that many of our Founding Fathers had seen enough of this shit that they were actually compelled to take up arms, and make the great sacrifice in the name of justice. They realized that the system had gone unchecked for too long, and a man could have no peace under a tyrannical ruler. Well, the tyrants are back, and I don't intend to let them use me as a tool to achieve their riches. | ||
