Anti-Islamists claim that Islam is pagan moon worshop. In fact, the symbol predates Islam and was adopted when the Turks conquered Istanbul in 1453 and adopted the city's existing flag and symbol. Like many Christian symbols and holidays, Islam borrowed from the cultures from which it arose. Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." | Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | In the Middle East, hundreds of suicide bombings have been undertaken in the last few decades, primarily by Arab men and youths. During the Al-Aqsa Intifada the Palestinians have attempted to kill Israelis using suicide bombers nearly every single day. They strap themselves with high explosives (and sometimes shrapnel) and seek out a civilian target, often city buses crowded with people at rush hour or, rarely, a military target. If the suicide bombing is successful, the bomber kills a number of people. Recent bombings have targeted civilian women and children and have even been carried out by women, and teenagers with their parents' support and encouragement. |

| Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | RickSP, You think God who was first with Jews and then Christians would be the same god as Islam? If that were the case, why have they been attacking Christians and Jews for decades? The God of the Christians and Jews doesn't have heads being cut off like the Muslims do. |

Your assertion that all or most Muslims follow the Islamist teachings is both uninformed and bigoted. But what else is new? Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis Last edited by RickSp; Aug 17, 2005 at 11:48 am.

Now that we have a drug free zone again, could you hazarded a guess at which religion was responsible for the most 'conversion by sword' converts. I would guess that the number in South America alone would be enough to win it for the Christians. I'd guess the Christians have a better score rate than all others combined. Some record. Now, don't count in those in Iraq today. And leave out Vietnam. I've seen enough about Vietnam in 24 hours to do for the next 6 months. It's really tough trying to debate with someone only spewing out scu - no that word is banded - bigoted racist crap. I think he got buried in a load of his own. I just got a worm advise. I'd say we all got a bit infected today from that worm going about. I'm afraid I might get dumped upon if I say any more. Keep up the good work. Moderates everywhere.

| Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | Chris, the Arabs get lumped since they share Islamic terror as their bond. It is a profile to watch out for these days. We also lump all of the Islamic Muslim countries in treating their women worse than dogs. It isn't racism, it's just what is. Political correctness can get us killed these days, so there is no sense to ignore realities. |

I am ANTI-WAR. And I do NOT cheer on the terrorists. There is no correlation between the two things. Just because I do not want us to police the world or invade other sovreign nations does not mean that I want to help terrorists harm human beings. Please. Putting this in the political humor section would demean the sacrifice of Cindy's son and all of the other soldiers that have died or are trying NOT to die over there right now. It's that sort of attitude, the one that says that we should look at the plight of the troops and their helpless families as amusing, that contributes to the contention in this country that makes it EASIER for terrorists to attack and win, because we are too busy fighting eachother. I cannot understand why anyone, even someone against the war, would be anything but sympathetic and supportive to our troops and their family members. My husband leaves in November for the desert for 14 months. We have a ten-month old son. If he dies over there and I want some damn justification for it, some reason, will I then be a "whiner"? If you said that to my face I'd kick your ass into the ground. If I didn't kill you first. Have a little friggin empathy for the woman. She lost her SON because of OIL, MONEY, and PISSING RIGHTS. | Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | Tokah, She has a right to know WHY her son died over there She was educated about why by not only her son when he told her why he left, but in person by an Iraqi woman who was freed and tried to talk some sense into this leftist. quote: One of the attendees, an Iraqi woman who moved recently to the United States, drove with her husband from Washington, D.C., to thank Sheehan for her sacrifice. But the woman, May Hasan Lamotte, 37, did not agree with Sheehan's call to pull the troops out of Iraq. "I came after reading about Miss Cindy. They think their children are dead for nothing, and I am one who got freedom," Lamotte said. "I am grateful for her son and American soldiers. Everybody thinks (Casey) died for nothing. He gave his life as many other brave soldiers have to give me and my country freedom," she said Source: http://www.insidebayarea.com/argus/localnews/ci_2943678 |

| Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | Chris, Hamas is local terrorism aimed at Israel alone since they are so close. Al Qaeda is the same goals, only global and aimed at all non-Muslims around the world. Among these terrorists, it is the same, just different targets. As far as appaling you, thanks for the compliment. I'm for America defending ourselves against terror. I am for the Jews being allowed to exist. I am against Saddam having funded terror agaisnt the Jews at 25k a bomber. I am agaisnt the way all Islamic countries treat their women in the culture. I was against the hundreds of thousands in mass graves in Iraq. I was against the jailing of children in Iraq, against the rape and torture rooms. I was for the freedom of the over 50 million in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's just appaling, isn't it? LOL |
