The Newsday article describes a vigil in Trenton. Here in Jersey City we had roughly fifty folks ranging from kids too young to hold candles to grandparents with snow white hair and canes, gathering around the fountain in Van Vorst Park. Across the river in Manhattan there were many more vigils, at Ground Zero, at Wall Street and no doubt up the length of the island. And across the length and breadth of the country this evening, thousands and thousands of candles flickered in the wind burning in solidarity with Cindy Sheehan. The flames may not yet stop a war, but it is a start. Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis

| Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | gr8fuldaniel, She's just being used for fund raising by the leftists. The more she talks, the more she sounds like a flaming lunatic. I love it and hope she keeps it up. The American people and especially the family of soldiers are fed up with her, which means they will respond. :-) |

| Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | Chris, I was referring to her being a leftist shill who has said some ignorant stuff that even her own family shuns. I haven't been to Drudge regarding her, so that means nothing to me. She is a left wing anti-war activist and was that long before her son died. For her this is absolutly nothing new. |

| Look Stuff Up Posts: 810 | <i>Why bring in her personal life? </i> Because she is using her dead son as a prop for her politics when he totally disagreed with her views. She brought herself into this. She met with Bush, then said she didn't. She's an echo for the Michael Moore goofs and that is all. Her family chose to come out to make it personally known that one wants an divorce and the rest thinks she is all wrong regarding her son and the war and would like her to close the mouth. I like her to talk, though I'll of course post against her content. She is making the American mainstream public sick of her stupidity. |

Bush in Crawford, Texas August 19, 2005. In the absence of lead protester Cindy Sheehan, who raced back to California to visit her ailing mother, other parents of U.S. soldiers recently killed in the Middle East have rallied together for her cause to meet with President Bush in an effort to change his war policy. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005 10:23 p.m. EDT AOL Poll: Cindy's Support Fading Watching Bush-bashing Gold Star mom Cindy Sheehan's press coverage, you'd think she has won the hearts and minds of Americans by universal acclamation. But a massive poll by America Online suggests that Sheehan is actually losing the public opinion battle by a landslide. Asked: "Do you agree with Sheehan's views?" Cindy's supporters trail her critics, 56 to 44 percent, with nearly 290,000 Americans responding to the technically unscientific survey. Asked, "Do you agree with Sheehan's tactics?" Cindy faired even worse, losing that contest 59 to 44 percent. Other, much smaller "scientific" surveys also show Sheehan losing support, but by smaller margins. ************************************************************************************************** Mom has the right to protest but not exploit son's memory http://www.abqtrib.com/albq/op_colum...015571,00.html Casey Sheehan was probably 21 or 22 when he joined the military - a young man, to be sure, but a grown man nonetheless. His mother, Cindy, admits she opposed his choice. A little more than a year ago, Cindy Sheehan and the president did talk. Afterward, a newspaper account quoted Cindy Sheehan saying: "I now know (Bush is) sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith." Today, she calls the president a murderer. One left-wing Web site advised readers how to properly manipulate Sheehan's story: "We should never call her Cindy..." She is now a useful tool of an anti-war movement that is less about peace and respect for those who have died than it is about being anti-American... It doesn't make her a traitor, as some on the right argue, but it certainly opens the door to questions about her present motivations. ********************************************************************************* Speak of the Dead: http://www.weeklystandard.com/Conten...p?ZoomFont=YES The Cindy Sheehan story is only the latest instance of the left's grief-based politics. IN THE FOUR YEARS OR so since September 11, liberals have found a new weapon of preference, and that weapon is martyrdom. They have discovered grief as a tactical weapon. They tend to like grief they can use. They use it to arouse guilt and sympathy to cover a highly partisan message, in the hope that while the message may be controversial, the messenger will be sacrosanct and above reproach. Since 9/11, they have embraced this tactic repeatedly ************************************************************************************** Cindy Sheehan: 35% Favorable 38% Unfavorable http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2005...%20Sheehan.htm ******************************************************************************** Foreign Communists give Cindy a thumbs up http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art...rticle_id=7170 ******************************************************************************* The Revolutionary Communist Party sticks up for Cindy Sheehan http://rwor.org/a/012/cindy-sheehan-crawford.htm ********************************************************************************* Sheehan's Hubby and Son: Cindy, Go Home! http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/8/18/111304.shtml

One: you need to use quotes and attribution or the board's integral quote function when you are using words someone else has written. Otherwise, how do we distinguish debate from some columnist's professional writing? And Two: Photoshopped images that render the object of your scorn in a bad light are spiteful and beneath you. I think you are more honest than that, but maybe you are just vrwc... Or if you like, I can post images of Dubya's facial expressions next to a chimpanzee, grimacing the same way. It's not really debate, but maybe okay for laffs... ASK if you are unable to use quotes properly. If you had read over you postings first, you should have seen your ERRORS. On the positive side, PH, god is at least trying. Previously god posted like a drug crazed, no tomorrow, immature, schoolboy/girl. This is a vast improvement. Credit where credit is due. The content is still crap, but you can award good points for effort. Now we have a problem with quantity and quality. God's "Look Stuff Up", I wonder it that a giveaway of where this crap issue from. I am spirited up in the belief that georgie will spend his days out of office in court or jail. Unless he does a deal before 2008, no incoming president would dare pardon him his sins against humanity. Unlike Pol Pot or Idi Amin there will be no hiding place for georgie and his leer.
