Air Force Lt. Col going to court for Vandalism

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050810/...bush_vandalism

Quote:
An officer in the U.S. Air Force is in hot water after admitting to vandalizing cars with pro-Bush bumper stickers at Denver International Airport.

Lt. Col. Alexis Fecteau, 42, is director of reserve operations at the National Security Space Institute in Colorado Springs, and turned himself into authorities after being caught in a sting operation, where detectives used a bait car to attract the vandal.

This is sad. Politics can and should be heated. But this is where the line is drawn. His career is done with the Military (thankfully) and I hope he is forced to pay for the re-painting of each and every car he vandalized.

Forgive my cynicism but how is this "breaking news"? I agree that vandals like him should be forced to pay for his crime. Sean said something about not using OP -EDs and using horribly biased sites like World Net Daily and Newsmax are just as bad as using an OP-ED in my opinion.

It happened. It's not an "op-ed" and this is just the link I found.

I felt the story was worth reading about. If Sean feels otherwise or the mods they can move it.

Still isn't what I'd call breaking news.... It's just not exciting enough. It sounds like something I'd do if I drank.

I just put bumper stickers on my car. I only halfway expect to live out the week.

If only I could saith, so should I.

Sorry Sean... I read various places and while this isn't "breaking OMG THE WORLD MIGHT END" news, it's an interesting peice I felt "might" generate some tlak. I know what this forum is for, but there's always room for off beat news. Unles you would prefer otherwise.

Sorry bout the source bothering you.

Why would a Light Colonel descend to vandalism? Do you think he is unstable? Would you be as amused if he had been targeting cars with Kerry stickers?

The article didn't say that charges had been filed, only that the prosecutors was considering filing. I think the guy needs some psych help, but do you really think the military will punish him?

PH, he will never make full bird, charges filed or no, he will never be assianged command of anything...

It's how the military works. Officers are not supposed to do stupid shit like this. It doesn't matter whose name was on the bumper stickers or what his problem is.. he threw his career away.

Mr V, I had to move the thread to politics. After thinking about it I cannot really consider this major breaking news...gotta stay consistent.

So it goes

And he'll plead out to some lesser charge with the civilian courts if they decide to pursue it - the military will definitely pursue it. They take so much criticism for various reasons that they have to come down hard on idiots of every sort. This guy should have known better and the military will make an example out of him, Lt. Col. or not.
