Black Dem Leaders do stand up comedy to roaring crowd.

Quote:
"They all need to be locked up because they are all criminals and they are all thieves," said Judge Greg Mathis, the star of the syndicated television program "The Judge Mathis Show."

Mathis made his remarks to an enthusiastic crowd assembled in Atlanta to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Participants are launching a two-year campaign to extend and strengthen key aspects of the act when it expires in 2007.
That was good.. this next bit though, had me rolling on the floor.

Quote:
The Bush administration was equated with past policies of slavery and segregation and labeled "the enemy of our (black America's) progress" by Mathis.

"They shot and missed when they enslaved, segregated and oppressed our people. They shot and missed when they stole the past two presidential elections. They shot and missed when they denied our right to vote," Mathis said.
Maxine.. you really float the fruitcakes though!

Quote:
"We are here to take on President Bush, [Vice President] Dick Cheney. We are here to take on [House Majority Leader] Tom DeLay. We are here to take on the new appointee to the Supreme Court, John Roberts," Waters said from the podium to cheers from the crowd.

The charges weren't meant in jest, Vicchio. I assume this is a racist rant of yours.

I wouldn't say it's racist...just anti-Dem. He thinks their ideas are funny. A lot of them would be pissing themselves laughing at some of his, but hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Thinking about it though, there was no need whatsoever to put the word 'black' in the title...

Sorry, but when black people say stupid things, they should be called out for it just the same as white people.

I assume you're not a liberal just from what little I've seen of your postings, and if that's true, then don't adopt the tactics of your enemy.

Mr.Vicchio, did or did not the Chairman of the GOP recently acknowledge and apologize for the racist "Southern Strategy" employed in every Republican presidential campaign since Nixon, including our current President?

Typical Mr. (I'm not a bigot) V.

Of course, he probably found it funny when Dubya joked about looking for WMD under the sofa while American solidiers were dying in his ugly little war.

And good on him, too... have the Dems ever gotten around to apologizing for supporting slavery or is that still on their "to do" list after "getting our electoral act together"?

Whatever, that doesn't change the fact that he called out Judge Mathis because he said something senselessly stupid, not because he was black.

Racial discrimination still exists. Come to California and fill out some of our forms - there are check boxes for race. I thought we got rid of all that stuff before.

I used to do security work, and was paid about $5.50/hour back then and had to get a guard card to be eligible to work. I later went to a different company doing hazardous remediation services under government contracts - a government security job paid $15.00/hour versus the previous $5.50/hour I had earned before and you didn't even need to take the test.

The catch was no more than 25% white folk could be employed under the contract and the owner of the company could not be a white male.

Ummm.... I swear we had the civil rights movement ages ago. What gives?

I'm caucasian but I never owned a slave, my parents didn't either and I doubt my grandparents even knew anyone who did (they were immigrants in any case), yet I'm expected to view it as repaying a debt (I never incurred). It's a scam for all I can see.

Sorry little buddy, but Vicchio is a well known opponent (and friend) of mine. His post had a clear message between the lines. He doesn't need a noobie reinterpreting what he said, (unless you are his new bride or something, heh). I know V for a cast iron Republican of the "anything goes" school with minor whines about immigration and other fairly extraneous matters. He couldn't see the crimes of BushCo if you put a gun to his head.

And what he was saying wasn't outright redneck race hatred of the Lester Maddox variety. It was ridicule of the funny black people doing a minstrel show, a comedic farce, without any serious merit. Mr Vicchio's racism is of the subconscious variety, not the violent Aryan Brotherhood type. He just thinks "differently" and can't see why all national black leaders and most black voters are Democrats. So he posts this crap while snorting his superior knowledge of their "stupidity!" But those in the article are seriously hostile to the Bushian/Republican approach to the politics of race. And they realize very clearly that they were targets for disenfranchisement in Florida, 2000. Possibly in other locations recently, too.

If you really want to take issue with something you might want to give Vicchio a few lashes for a misleading title for this thread. He knows better.

Uhm...

Let's see. All the people mentioned here were black.... if I didn't mention they were black, speaking at a n event for "black's" then I would be called racist.

Whatever guys. If you want to call me a racist, prove your alligations or admit it's all you have.

I am racist because.. gasp I believe people should be judged by thier character, not thier skin color (thus my anti-affirmitive action stance). Others think we should give people special rights and privilages based purely on thier skin color... I don't. And I am called the racist.

Amazing.

These people quoted were spouting the usual "The GOP is keeping the black man down!" and disparaging any black person that would dare side with the Conservatives.

Reality check, the GOP puts more minorities into positions of power then the Dems... but not based on any quote system, rather on merit.

Damn that racist Merit Monster!

Bill Cosby anyone? He got called... GASP! Racist for his comments.

But hey, you wanna consider me racist, because I found these statements in this setting by these people to be funny... be my guest.

Is racism inherently instinctive or nurtured?

I am the least racist person I know. But when I see a mxed race couple, my gut revolts and I have force myself to ignore that.

I have always been that way... since I was a small child. Go figure.
Like I said Vicchio, not the Lester Maddox/George Wallace type.

It's subconscious, meaning it creeps out when you're not expecting it and causes ya' grief. You think you're not prejudiced, but your stomach knows you are, in your subconscious mind...

Oh No Patrick... I said that as a child I saw a black and white person together and went "uhg." I still get that from time to time. Don't know why.

Yep, I'm a racist bastard. You got me. Honest, don't ever act on those thoughts... but hey, I am honest enough to admit to a gut reaction.

What's funny is I have been the best man for a mixed race couple... ya know that whole deep racist bent of mine let me stand there cheering them on and wishing them the best.

Real bastard I am.

At least I am honest, and not a dishonest person trying to make something out of nothing... as you almost ALWAYS do. Like now.

Why did you attempt to make a comedy out of the real concerns of black citizens regarding their perception of unfairness, Vicchio? Why not just say that you disagreed with their assessment? The ridicule was subtle racism, buddy. You don't even know your own mind. Get a little therapy, and work it out.

I don't think you're a bastard, just somebody trying to cope with things that take ya' by surprise. A lot like me... I hope I am more honest than you think me.

Got a PhD in analytical psychology? Didn't think so, so don't pretend that because you've had some spiffs with him on a forum you can peer into his heart of hearts and see that, deep down, he really is a racist because he doesn't see your great (and spurious) interpretation of political events that didn't precipitate this kind of lunacy, anyway.

Maybe I'm just taking things at face value, but I saw a guy make fun of another guy who said something stupid and who happened to be black. I make fun of the level 10 dipshit moonbats at Daily Kos the exact same way since that whole blog is basically one big continuing joke, does that make me discriminatory?

Beg pardon? Are you talking about Democrats circa 1860? Or are you referring to the 20th Century Dixiecrats, the Southern Democrats-in-name-only who would prefer to die before joining the party of Abraham Lincoln? At least, until the Democratic party started leading the way towards desegregation. Suddenly the Republican party was looking more attractive and the Dixiecrats converted in droves... Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms, Trent Lott, etc.

Mehlman wasn't apologizing for ancient history, Doc, he was apologizing for a cynical policy that's elected every Republican president in the last 40 years, including St. Dutch and Dear Leader, who's sitting in the White House as we speak and who still refuses to address the NAACP.

What a laff! Picking on alternative spellings for yer first post? Mykdaneck, I hope ya have more to contribute than this. Everybody is new at some point on a new board and everyone's opinions are welcome, if comprehensible.

Yeah, I talked down to Caduceus, 'cause he/she was pokin' a relationship that goes waaay back and has nuances that aren't immediately evident. Vicchio and I have a love/hate relationship, heh. So now here's Mykdanek further misunderstanding the whole thing.

Bottom line is that subconscious attitudes influence our perceptions. This has been evident to me with respect to Mr.Vicchio and others, as well as me myself upon introspection. Vicchio, no one can fault the subconscious itself, just like no one has a right to find fault with our nightly dreams. What proceeds from the subconscious is by definition uncontrollable. But it does respond to therapy. I am happy to hear of your multirace friendships, though that is a bit off topic, since I never called you a race hater.

Anyhow, if you would like to keep your sub rosa attitudes better concealed, don't make these unPC threads. And keep your thread titles accurate...
