| Swildo Location: Georgia Posts: 117 | Im sorry guys but I have to agree with Vicchio on this one. Too many times have I seen Black people put into power for calling whites racist and using affirmative action. I see those that do that as greedy slugs and i think it is nothing but a scam. I cant stand Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. I judge people not by the color of their skin....but by there attitudes and character. I think it is wrong that a white person be rejected from a University so that they can make room for someone of another race. Even if the white person has the higher grades and such. Yes this happens. People should not be hired or accepted based on the color of skin but rather for the best man for the job. I can't stand people that call others racist simply because they don't agree wiht what the black man says. Sometimes what the black "leaders" say is wrong. What judge Mathis said is wrong. Think if a white guy got up and said something like that. Think if a white guy got up and spoke out against Al Sharpton like Al sharpton does to whites. Why is it that the white guy would be called a racist but the black guy gets away with it? Doesnt this seem kinda wierd. I understand that slavery and what the whites did to the blacks was wrong. Thats why we teach against it in our schools. So that it will never happen again. I agree slavery should never happen again. But I think that the blacks have carried it WAY too far when companies get sued for not hireing a black person but they do hire a white person. Once again you hire the best man for the job (common sense). Why dont more people call affirmative action and other things of that nature racist? Think if you got fired from a major company simply because that company had not hired enough black people and they suddenly had to make up for it or else they would get sued. Thats rediculous. I also hate how people say that the Confederate Flag and what the fighting south stood for was nothing but hatred. And just the site of a confederate flag is immediately called racist. If you think this then you need a history lesson. Only 5% of the fighting south owned slaves. Many southerners were fighting simply to protect their homeland. |

It's a losing fight IMHO, but it's again.. my fault for being honest. And his for taking that too an extreme it was never meant. I leave the final judgement to others. I know where I stand at the end of the day, and those that know me in RL would laugh at his claims. That's more then enough for me. Really, who cares, besides blacks, who have led themselves into their own political irrelevance, anyway? | Anarcho-capitalist Posts: 1,972 | I live in an area where it's probably only 30% caucasian (I'm caucasian also) and haven't had any real problems. I'd say it's 50% black and 20% hispanic or asian. My wife is an asian lady also (and one of the nicest women you'll meet). Anyway, the point is most people get along just fine. It's mostly the media that tries to egg people on, though I don't believe a black person feels comfortable at a primarily white event or visa versa. That's just nature. But there IS enforced institutionalized racism ... and I happen to be in the minority here. Someday we'll have all the racial check boxes and quotas gone and then people can truly say the civil rights movement has ended. Minorities (including ideological) vary depending on where you live. I think mostly racial issues are propogated in a top down manner to keep people played against each other, while ignoring the real problems. Freedom - are you man enough to handle it? I can't stand people who over exagerate about this kinda stuff. If one whit eperson speaks out against a black person they are automatically considered racist which is incredibly rediculous. | |

I seriously doubt the sincerity of many of the "leaders" that live well off who complain about "racists" at the drop off a hat. Jesse Jackson complains, starts marches... and then demands money for example. While I am not going to claim there are no racist white people, I find many of these claims seem founded more on possibilities rather then realities. Many of the claims fuel the fires that givevotes, money and power to those making them. Any "white" guy dumb enough to open his mouth is smacked down, and black person.. an uncle tom. Instead of focusing on detering harmful actions and staying focused on stopping criminal actions, they try to delve into the social engineering realm believing they can change society. And then we have emotion police that applies laws vairably regarding criminal actions depending on whether a person is happy or angry etc. (a.k.a. hate crime laws) as if someone who pummels you out of love shouldn't be punished the same as anyone else who did the same or if you're going to rob someones home, be sure to videotape yourself throwing a dart at a phonebook, so you can show it was a pure random selection ![]() You can see the same insanity in tons of other laws too where things are moved into the irrelevant social realm. Like they want to pass a law prohibiting minors from using a cell phone while driving. Well, what about people changing their radio stations or people grooming themselves in the mirror etc. Do we need a ton of laws detailing our lives or are we missing the very simple law that even a 7 year old can understand against reckless driving - if someone is driving erratically an appears a danger to others, it shouldn't matter whether they are drunk or tired, it's the imminent danger that is a problem not the detailed social life of the individual. Oh, and they passed a law against using silly string on Halloween here in CA. As if it's ok to trash someones place on other days, or using toilet paper instead. ![]() Too many problems to fix ... not enough time. Freedom - are you man enough to handle it?
