| Igneous Magma Posts: 169 | Sonart- I suspected that may have been the case with Prometheus' nigger comment and you have made it clear. My personal preference would be to stay away from it altogether as seems to be the preference of Canadians but I guess it can't be doing much harm if it's used as a sarcastic comment. Not to interrupt this thread in any way but it did seem like somthing that I should get clear about this forum. Probably would make it alright to call Bush and the neocons a bunch of Nazis too if it was meant as sarcasm. |

(Although I had to laugh seeing someone earnestly use the word 'Poofs' for gays on another thread) But I do tend to put "quotation" marks when I use it, just in case . ![]() . I don't suffer from insanity... I thoroughly enjoy it

| Igneous Magma Posts: 169 | Not to worry Sonart and belverron, I can usually tell when people use such words to describe minorities if they are using those words in a vicious way or they are using them as sarcasm. But it usually takes me about a half dozen posts by an individual to determine where they are really coming from. |

It figures in the name for a popular TV series. As to the similarities between the Bush gang and Hitler's thugs; there are certain similarities, even if the differences are significant. Bush and Hitler their are similarities On the election of the next President: When will there be someone from outside the establishment? What does it take to have someone elected who is not a part of the conspiracy against freedom? H. Clinton is a political joke. #2 R. Giuliani was the New York City's Mayor during 09/11 events. He was not booted, but : - left the New York City' Office due to his health (read : prostate) and personal/private (read : divorce) reasons Bloomberg has got the New York City's Mayoral post, because there was no real political opposition, while his the "most serious" political opponent had less than 3 months for a political campaign. Practically, Giuliani left and Bloomberg has taken over the post "for free".

| Pragmatic liberal Posts: 421 | Hilary is very well liked by the Democratic base, so if she were to run, it is very possible that she would get the Democratic nomination. If the Democrats want to win in the general election though, they will need someone who can turn some red states into blue states, and I doubt Hilary can do that (with the possible exception of Arkansas, which wouldn't be enough). The results would probably be similar to what happened in 2004, a close election, but a clear victory for the Republicans in the electoral college. Of course I am assuming that the Republicans will nominate a viable candidate. If they don't then all bets are off. If the Democrats want to win I think they will need to nominate a Southern or Midwestern white male, Edwards or Clark probably being the best possible candidates of those considered likely to run. I think that is the only way they will be able to turn red states into blue states. |

How refreshing it would be to have an intelligent, compassionate, handsome President for a change. The stuttering chimp puppet act is really getting on my nerves. How does a candidate lose all three debates (by no small margin) and still win the election? Easy, CHEAT like theres no law against it! If Edwards had his way, we would have had another "one-term bush". Plenty suspicious about that 04 election and he was willing to fight for every last vote. If the votes arent treated with all due respect, you end up with the best cheater winning. America deserves better. We deserve very real election reform and Republitards are not showing the inclination to bring that change. They like a hackable vote. Where would they be without it? As for the rest on your list (I am glad you put Edwards at the top), I like Russ Feingold and Barbara Boxer, too. (Boxer is not on your list even though she is more a champion for Democracy than many dems put together) The Reps want Hillary to run, they have the proper artillery for that gal. She has betrayed Americans far and wide by signing the bankruptcy bill among other serious misteps. Last edited by gr8fuldaniel; Mar 5, 2006 at 09:11 pm.
