$1.5 Billion Giveaway Secretly Slipped into Energy Bill, Waxman Says

By: Rep. Henry Waxman

Dear Mr. Speaker:

I am writing to draw to your attention a provision in the Energy Conference Report that raises serious procedural and substantive concerns. At its essence, this provision is a $1.5 billion giveaway to the oil industry, Halliburton, and Sugar Land, Texas. The provision was inserted into the energy legislation after the conference was closed, so members of the conference committee had no opportunity to consider or reject this measure. Before the final energy legislation is brought to the House floor, this provision should be deleted.

This is becoming more common. Cant we just execute the gangster that did this. As an example. That would send a clear message. I am opposed to the death penalty but this is different. You wanna bet nobody even gets arrested? Because there are no consequences, it will happen again, soon. We hear about guys getting stiff sentences for stealing a candy bar on a 3rd strike. But put on a suit and every thing changes, anything goes.

Our leaders are sending us a clear message: "Dont smoke pot, we will lock you up forever, but its OK for us to steal 1.5 Billion"

Anybody see a pattern?
This one is from LAST July:
Quote:
U.S. conceals documents on $1.5 billion in Iraqi oil revenues paid to Halliburton, auditor finds oil funds prone to fraud

WASHINGTON, July 9, 2004 (HalliburtonWatch.org) - The U.S. Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) maintained an accounting system for Iraq's oil revenues that was "open to fraudulent acts" and "prone to error," independent accounting firm KPMG reported today in a preliminary audit. KPMG said the CPA's failure to adequately monitor oil revenues "greatly diminishes the transparency of the expenditures made." The CPA, which administered Iraq's oil revenues from May 2003 through June 2004, is under criticism for refusing to release documents regarding payments it made to Halliburton and other private contractors.
I was looking for a major news media coverage of my first post, when I ran across this one.
How could they have the nerve to even TRY to steal 1.5 billion, even once?

Is it because they are above the law?

EDIT:
An equal crime is how the MSM is an accomplice by not reporting these felonies.

Perhaps they aren't reporting because there is no crime involved.

Have you considered that perhaps your sources, your views and your interpritation of the events is... wrong?

Not saying they are, just asking.

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

Uri Dowbenko has been writing about this for years, Daniel.

the Pentagon cannot account for a mind-boggling $2.3 trillion. In fact, at Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's confirmation hearing in January 2001, Sen. Robert Byrd wondered aloud, "How can we seriously consider a $50 billion dollar increase in the Defense Department's budget when the DoD's own auditors cannot account for $2.3 trillion in transactions?"

After September 11, of course, fresh fraud at DoD will become virtually limitless because of the new "War on Terrorism," a black hole of a boondoggle that may surpass even the "Cold War" in Pentagon corruption, waste and malfeasance.

Meanwhile, HUD cannot account for $59 billion, according to the testimony of former HUD Inspector General Susan Gaffney. (See "Why Is $59 Billion Missing from HUD?" by Kelly O'Meara, Insight Magazine)

Coincidentally, that was the year that "HUD Taps DynCorp for Services," according to a Washington Post headline from August 2, 1999, describing a new $51 million contract to provide desktop services to the Office of Inspector General at Housing and Urban Development.

Because they have pushed legislation that calls for prosecution of virtually all Blue Collar criminals while overlooking the White Collar criminals. Even though White Collar crimes are becoming ever more popular, and ever more profitable.

In Washington they don't seem to have a real problem with people stealing somebodies entire retirement account, as long as no guns were used during the commission of the crime. Use a pen, and its just fine by them.

I don't know who MSM is myself, but HUD is Housing, and Urban Development, or the cocaine dealing arm of the CIA.

Msm is MainStream Media.

And if you look closely, you will see that much of government spending nowadays is outright fraud. The conspiracy is real, but the distractions of mainstream media entice America to look the other way. Sorta like a crowd enthralled by a master magician, while his shills pick pockets!

Hey just noticed something...

Every single one of your "sources" comes from extremely biased, amateur websites.

Its like citing a white supremicist website for evidence of why Aryans are superior to Jews.

And you never cite anything but your own skewed opinions, castille. This is debate, not puffery. Jump in the lake if you can't contribute to debate.

The criminals can get away with this because they own the law in America entirely. I think these people are linked stongly to the government, andt the government has done much worse than this.

Maybe you should tell that to yourself. If you can't accept the fact that most of your sources are questionable, maybe you shouldn't be debating.

Speaking of skewed opinions, aren't you the one making up grand conspiracies without providing credible evidence?
