US: Direct Support for Terror

http://electroniciraq.net/news/2080.shtml
Quote:
The U.S. Government is now openly supporting the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, an Iranian resistance movement designated as terrorist organization by the US State Department.
The US will stoop to anything to carry out its hegmonism in the Middle East. This includes direct support for avowed Marxist terror groups like the MEK.

Quote:
when Paul Wolfowitz promised Iraqis in 2003 that the US would hunt down the "monsters" that assisted Saddam in digging the mass graves in 1991, the Bush administration was in fact just beginning its support for some of the direct perpetrators of these crimes. Also revealing is U.S. criticism of the new Iranian president elect, due to his alleged involvement in holding U.S. embassy personnel hostage in 1979. Though the U.S. admits the MEK was involved in the same incident, White House support for this terrorist organization continues. This kind of hypocrisy reveals much about what the global "war on terror" is really about. It's not a war against terror as such, but rather a war of terror to subdue resistance to the US designs in the region.
Yeah, MEK helped Saddam kill Kurdish rebels and fill those mass graves. But they get a pass because they will do what the neo-cons ask.

Is this what it looks like? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, regardless if they are filthy terrorists?

It looks like thats the case. Sounds like the whole communism wave back in the 60's and 70's-support anyone that opposes communism. And you see how far that got us. But on the other side maybe this is exaclty what we need. Some street cred. Some muscle in Iraq able to combat with the suicide bombers. I know that sounds awful but maybe the US will finally be able to fight the war as the terrosits have been doing it from the start.

That's exactly what you did in Latin America, and that just turned out fine and dandy, didn't it??

The US is the biggest supporter of terrorism worldwide. We always have been. Why is this any surprise?

Jesus loves me? No thanks, I don't swing that way.

It's not only the height of hypocrisy (yet again) but part of the initial phase of hostilities by the US against Iran. See also military preparations under way in places like Azerbaijan.

A great way to follow up the US triumph in Iraq, eh? :)

Of course, for many years the US supported, oh, what was his name? Saddam Hussien, Yah, that's it. Rumsfeld, Cheny and Bush (the elder) were all in bed with the sumbitch. Didn't work out real well, as I recall.

Just goes to show that the US government doesn't just repeat its mistakes, it perfects them.

US supported the IRA for years as well.

The US has granted "protected status" under the Geneva Conventions to 3,800 members of an Iranian opposition group interned in Iraq.
...
But the new status did not affect the US view that the group was a terrorist organisation, Mr Ereli said.
...
"We have determined that they were not belligerents in this conflict and we are according them the human rights protections consistent with the Geneva Conventions," Mr Ereli said in Washington.
...
But it will not protect any individuals who are suspected of carrying out terrorist acts.

Terrorist organization? I was looking at thier website, I coundn't agree more with some of those policies. They are not terrorists. Terrorism is a tactic in which multiple civilians are attacked in order to strick fear into the hearts of Military Personell. MeK has attacked Absolutely no civilians. I think the most perfect example of terrorism would be Hiroshima and Nagasaki. More civilians died then than in any other attack ever. So say what you want, I'm joining MeK!
