In the United States, the president can only have a limited 3 terms. I think that this is a good idea. To the Point of extening it.

What about reducing the presidents terms to only one?

Would this reduce or increase corruption?

How about extening this princliple to all powerful position?

Any thoughts.

No. That is no change. If anything, it may accelerate the decline as the corrupt people who get there realize that they only have 2 to 6 years to "Make their impact".

If you do this without reducing the involvment that government has in your life, all you will do is trade an elected official for an unelected bureaucrat. (Not that we don't live in fear of them now.)

If you take a pig and put it in a cute dress and teach it to dance, It's still a pig.

What needs to be done is limit the scope of the federal government, thereby reducing its power over us. In addition, the less they can do, the less they can be corrupted by outside forces because they will not be able to do as much for those outside forces.

Of course, that means asking power-hungry people to voluntarily give up power...a pipe dream.
