| Molten Ash Posts: 104 | The Downing Street Memo leaks http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...593607,00.html http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/ http://www.johnconyers.com/ It came to light not too long ago that what many knew or suspected (even many conservatives) that Bush lied to Congress and the American people to get them behind the invasion of Iraq. It turns out that this is a high crime impeachable under Article II of the Constitution. I'm not here to push impeachment because it took 2 years to impeach Nixon, so what good is that? I expected this from Bush and more anyhow. My anger regarding Downing Street Memo's is at the media. A semen stained blue dress had them clamoring over each other to report every single sordid detail of Clinton's infidelity to Hillary. The only person's life who was at stake might have been Bills had Hillary been the jealous type. No one died, over Clinton looking into the camera at America denying that he "had sexual relations with that woman". Bush on the other hand kept the public in a state of fear with his talk of Saddam and his yellow cake mix and WMD's, 1700 men and women who served their country gave their lives possibly believing Bush when he told the lies he told. I should say and will say alleged lies he told. But, at any rate the media hasn't given this important issue hardly any airplay, print ink, for whatever reason they refuse to mass communicate that THIS president misled America into a war that seems hopeless. That makes me mad. "Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death." - Adolf Hitler |

You can lie to a country about war, and get away with it because war is boring to most people, compared to the sexed up media and 'oooh did you hear what that President Clinton did' as trivial things are more media-friendly. And stories like that sell, ergo more press coverage. |
