| Beloved Truth-Dragon Location: Texas Posts: 1,304 | Head of Texans for a Republican Majority indicted for money laundering. "In 2002 Colyandro was executive director of Texans for a Republican Majority, which helped the GOP win an edge in the 150-member House for the first time since Reconstruction. He's also under indictment in Travis County on charges of laundering money and accepting illegal corporate donations for the group, though his legal disputes don't appear to bear on his concerns for 2006." This isn't recent news, apparently, but I just found it. I think it's a pretty clear indication that the party of morality is also the party of greed. Yes, greed. Not personal responsibility or an "ownership society" or whatever. Greed. http://www.statesman.com/metrostate/...WUbTTUWUXUTUZT It's just an aside in the article, but feel free to read if you want to find out how the members of the Texas legislature screw their constituents over more and more with each session (which is every two years if you're unfamiliar with the idiocies that Texas gets away with). If only I could saith, so should I. |
