When First Lady Bush visited Jerusalem yesterday, she was mobbed and heckled by protesters from both the Palestinian and Jewish camps. We can understand why Palestinians were angered by her presence, but why were the Jews pissed off? Apparently, they want Jonathan Pollard freed. Who is he? He was an Israeli spy who broke US law whilst he was working for the CIA and was duly sentenced to life imprisonment in 1985. Why is he such a big deal that in 2005 the Jews are still calling for his release? Can anyone enlighten me?

Isn't it a bit hypocritical to complain that he has been betrayed when the crime he is serving his sentence for is the betrayal of his own country? As ye sow, so shall ye reap. Let this piece of scum rot in prison forever.

Yeah, That's what I don't understand. The guy's a self-confessed spy and criminal. Why hassle Laura Bush over what happened to him?

Well according to his supporters they fill the punishment was to harsh comparable to other allied spy .
Also he was confessed as a part of Plea-Bargain
