Well, they're old buddies after all.

That Saddam is reported to have rejected the offer sounds only too credible. The degree of resistance must buck him up considerably, and if they freed him he wouldn't get to do his Milosevic act in the dock.

i'm not sure how credible this report is.. one single source, and it happens to be one that has no connection with the coalition. gotta wonder how they got this scoop when nobody else reported it.

i happen to think that we want to control a portion of the trial - and we want to see him executed.. imagine if saddam decided to spill the beans during his trial and fully exposed all the nefarious deals we (including rumsfeld) made with him. talk about being politically damaging..

I don't think many pay much attention to what Saddam says. Too bad really.

I remember when Saddam was first caught by coalition forces, the first words out of his mouth were that the entire U.S. story is a fabrication, merely theatre for our entertainment, and I am one that happens to believe his story.

Anybody cooperating with the CIA will be a target of the "insurgents", and anybody not cooperating with the CIA gets no press. It must be nice to control the press, and thus, the "truth".
