Our Lieutenant Governor here in Texas, David Dewherst, attacks his opponent, Ted Cruz, because Cruz represented a Chinese company that stole some patented designs from a U.S. company. The adds from Dewherst claim that this cost American jobs.
On the other side, Cruz claims that he didn't argue the case and was not the attorney of record. Court documents show that to be a lie. He was, in fact, the attorney of record on the case.
But all is not what it seems in Dewherst's add either. There were no American jobs lost because a Chinese company stole American patents. The "American" company was moved to China, many years ago. The fact that a Chinese company stole the patents didn't cost any American jobs since the "American" company, except for executives, operates in China, and imports the products into the U.S.
The product is car tires.
But, these guys are Republicans. Truth isn't important.
