No such thing as a Casual Libertarian?

Has anyone else noticed this? There is no such thing as casual libertarian. It seems like everyone you talk to is absolutely passionately, batty, insanely Libertarian. You have passionate and dispassionate Dems and Reps, but holy crap, if you are Libertarian you are either a crusader, or totally silent. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground.

Meh. I lean Libertarian. And I've expressed said views here, so I'm not silent.

Here's a rich, conservative, gay Christian libertarian to add to your collection.

My libertarian days were pretty mild. I just think that, if one is a libertarian, then one has at least given thought to their position rather than voted the party of their parents.

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

I think I've announced numberous times I'm both libertarian and centrist. So I see little merit to your post.

Libertarians always think they are "centrists". They think this because they think "centrist" is defined by disagreeing with both Republicans and Democrats on several issues.

Thinking that you should be allowd to smoke pot if you want to and that you should be allowed to ban blacks from your motel if you want to does not make you a centrist because a conservative would resist you on the first point and a liberal would resist you on the second. And believing that anyone who wants a police officer to protect them is a nanny-stater does not make you a centrist. Believing that the Fed is evil and all money should be backed by some hard currency does not make you a centrist. Believing that taxation is theft does not make you cenrtist. Many of those things make you "looney fringe".

No nothing about your post is accurate, I find most Libertarians to be closer related to conservatives so I think you're just pulling doodie out of a diaper with this.

Why not point out what is inaccurate, then.

I love libertarians, they make me feel smart.

if you are Libertarian you are either a crusader, or totally silent.
Lately, the crusader Libertarians have been uncharacteristically silent. Did Ron Paul's failure to exceed single digit Republican support nationally tame the bat shit crazies? Or have they retreated to their bunker compound armories in rural Idaho to await the 2nd Revolution (or Ron Paul's next campaign)?

A centrist, historically, is someone whose political position lies between the revolutionary party and the left-social-democrats. Like 'gay' it has been stolen for no very evident purpose.

I think at this point the terms "libertarian," "centrist," "liberal" and "conservative" are practically meaningless. Prevalent support for Democrats is a good example of what's wrong
    with "the left".
